What the club says: Came Down Golf Club was founded in 1896, and shows off an excellent challenge, suitable for golfers at all levels. The course sits on chalk downland and offers fantastic views to locations such as Weymouth, Portland, Dorchester, Isle of Wight and Maiden Castle.

Being a member of Playmore golf Came Down is my home course and a very good too. Its a course that is kept very well throughout the year so making it a pleasure to play.(Round played: Oct 2020 - Score: 95 Handicap: 20.9)

A hilly course the weather can well be one of the challenges due to the wind, from the first tee the views over Dorchester are superb, a long downhill par 4 where a good drive can leave you with 150 to go. Best view is from the 15th green where you can see both sides of Portland, round to Devon across Lyme Bay, coming back on the final hole on a clear day the needles of the I.O.W are visible.(Round played: Jun 2020 - Score: 115 Handicap: 34.4)

Have not played the course at its best as there was still 5 temp greens but still enjoyable. Have to say the beef sandwich was brill. Everyone very friendly looking forward to getting back hopefully with all holes in play.Course (layout/challlenge)

We visited Came Down after seeing it advertised and they gave us a good deal for eight people. Full English breakfast went down well, the course played very well a decent challenge. Easy walking only a couple of slight inclines.Course (layout/challlenge)

Views to die for,especially from 15th green and 16th tee. The course has some really challenging par 3s as well as some fantastic par 4s,the 4th 5th 7th and 16th need your full attention. Miss the fairways at your peril the rough and wind are what makes this course a real test. Avoid the pits found on the 8th and 17th as these will make making pars difficult. All the staff were friendly and members were welcoming. We throughly enjoyed are day out and will be back. For the record we are all single figure handicap golfers
