Challenging
A great course, which is longer than it appears.
Course was playing well, greens and tees in reasonable condition.

Lovely, well kept course
I played here years ago and it has always been a clean a tidy course.
Plenty of forgiveness on the fairways and a decent crowd on the course.

Enjoyable local 9 hole course
Enjoyable short course. Ongoing problem in that the bunkers are generally unplayable as there are generally a lot of weeds/grass growing in them.

Terrific value for money
Bentra municipal golf course is a local golf course offering a stern test for very little financial outlay. Five-day membership for pensioners like myself is only £100, but I pay as i play for only £5 a round. Its mainly a summer course for me as it gets very wet if we have a wet winter. The tees and greens are not very good, but it is a municipal course after all, no trained greenkeeper, just good honest groundsmen.

Great for beginners and sloggers
A great open 9 hole parkland course very forgiving if you go astray.
Nice scenery, can be quite muddy during rainy times.

Fantasticvalue for money!
The Bentra course is superb value for money as pensioners get an 18 holes round for £5. The course is owned by the council and as such the staff are untrained in golf course management, but they try their best and most of the staff are courteous and friendly. But on the downside, the course is genially wet, but even when its dry, the greens are still on the slow side, but all in all, its good value for money and right on my doorstep (4 miles from my home)!

Bentra Golf course, is situated in Whitehead, County Antrim and is an excellent 9 hole course that represents value for money, as Pensioners like myself, can get a round Monday to Friday for ?5. The course is kept in good condition by Mid & East Antrim council who owns the facility. The course itself is in fair condition, but it could do with some TLC, as some of the bunkers are lacking in the one material that makes them bunkers, namely sand. But all in all its a reasonably priced facility, to keep golfers like in the 'swing' of things, instead of the driving range!
