What the club says: Dubai Country Club is the oldest club in the Emirates. It had the first ever course in Dubai, in 1971 history was made, as its 9 hole sand course was ready for the first round. The club now boasts two sand courses offering a unique golfing experience.
The Al Awir course has 18 holes with an impressive layout of 6,346 yards. The course is a challenge to both professionals and amateurs alike, with the unique experience of carrying your own piece of 'fairway' with you to strike the ball from. Although it is a sand course, there are water hazards and bunkers which make it a really tough challenge in places.
