The championship course with 18 holes was re-designed in 1972 by the golf architect Donald Harradine. His masterful achievement successfully incorporates all its natural features. The fact that golfers have to use every club in their bag is testimony to the rich variety of playing surfaces and so it is no wonder that players return again and again.
The appearance of the course, which is embraced by Slovenia's highest mountains, is reminiscent of a park. As golfers walk through the sunny woodlands they enjoy the fresh mountain air and marvellous views of the Julian Alps, the Karavanke range, Mount Jelovica and the Kamnik Alps in the distance. A special charm is exerted by the mighty Stol (2236 m), the highest peak of the Karavanke, which creates an indelible impression on visitors and suffuses them with energy.

In 1993, the King's Course was joined by a 9-hole course of more contemporary design, with more varied relief and three water hazards. It is particularly appreciated by players who wish to test their control of the game in the face of water hazards. The Lake Course also features a putting green. These first 9 holes represent part of a projected 18-hole championship course.
