What the club says: The previous owners invested 18 million euros in Oceânico’s Victoria Golf Club, designed by Arnold Palmer, one of the greatest legends of the sport. This was the most ambitious golf project in Portugal, and was aimed at being one of the best golf complexes in the whole of Europe.
The Victoria Clube de Golfe will be the fifth at Vilamoura and the most exclusive one at the resort, making it ideal to became the Algarve's and Portugal's major venue for top international tournaments.
Palmer, whose design company has planned some 500 layouts worldwide, compiled the Victoria course project, and Southern Golf, Europe's largest golf course builder, was awarded the construction contract.
Oceânico’s Victoria Golf Course is an 18-hole, par 72 championship layout, measuring 6.609 meters from the back tees. Several man-made lakes provide hazards for the players and also serve as water reservoirs for irrigation.

Stewards asked us to speed up at one point or let the group behind through, even though the group ahead were still on the green. Tricky back 9, course in good condition, boggy in quite a few places. I think it was quite a bit overpriced, but I guess they can charge what they want here, and still be fully booked. Would certainly play again, but would chose the Pinhal over this course any day.

A really lovely golf course, top notch facilities a must visit in the area. The front nine is challenging, however the back 9 is really hard, with lots of water, I'd suggest 18 handicap maximum should play here to be realistic.(Round played: Jun 2017 - Score: 103 Handicap: 17.7)

Treat with respect and follow the course guide, sometimes kiss ifs easier than trying to go for the green, 17th par 5 has water circa 300 yards on right hand side, will play again

There are some large bunkers that can also prove to be difficult. Nevertheless, with sensible course management birdies and pars are achievable for high handicappers (I hit a few pars and a birdie and have a handicap of 17). The course is very attractive, the greens are in great order. Just watch out for the water. It cost me very dearly - a number of lost balls and the highest score I've had for 18 months. But worth the visit.
