Attached to the Heritage Awali Golf & Spa Resort, the magnificent 18 hole "Heritage Golf Club" golf course which covers 100 hectares, is the masterpiece of architect Peter Matkovitch, of Peter Matkovich and Hayes the world renowned South African architectural practice.
Situated between the mountains and the sea in an undulating landscape interspersed with lakes, streams and tropical trees, the championship course (Par 72) which is both technically challenging and varied, provides golfers with unique possibilities for a game with exceptional moments and memories.

Excellent world class courses
Heritage Awali Golf Club delivers a standout golf experience, blending beautifully maintained courses, lush Mauritian scenery, and a welcoming atmosphere that will appeal to both casual players and seasoned golfers. The golf offering is one of the resort's strongest features.We found the golf facilities to be well kept, scenic, and enjoyable for all skill levels. The resort offers access to two excellent 18 hole courses ( Le Chateau and La Reserve, both of which have hosted the DP World Tour )plus an additional nine hole short course; although we never played the 9-hole course, but two world class courses make it a versatile destination for golfers of all ages and abilities. Both courses are obviously of championship level, and are in excellent condition, offering a fair challenge with 5 sets of tees, without being punishing. Expect fruit bats overhead and monkeys crossing fairways, adding a memorable, distinctly Mauritian character to your round.
The clubhouse at Le Chateau is very welcoming, and food is included if you are on the all-inclusive package. Food is however NOT included at La Reserve clubhouse, and our party reported that the beer is very expensive there. The all-inclusive option also gave free golf at Le Chateau, with players only having to pay for buggy hire. This was on a per person basis, so our 3 balls paid 1900 Mauritian Rupees per person (about ?30).

Whether you're playing a relaxed nine holes or tackling the full championship layout, the experience is consistently praised as one of the resort's top attractions. I look forward to returning and playing here again.

A true test!
La Reserve is a links style course. Some narrow fairways, and accuracy is useful. The grasses gobble your balls up if sent in their direction . The views are outstanding . Infinity greens are a feature . There is a halfway house offering free cookies and lemon juice with other beverages to purchase. The clubhouse overlooks the tricky 18th hole and offers a good range of meals .The course is not for beginners. Great experience overall.Reviewer Rating

This course is a fantastic value for money and is kept in exceptional condition. The greens are well maintained and provide a great view.

The last of the 3 courses played on my visit and wow did I save the best until last! This place is golfers paradise on the island, it was in absolutely immaculate condition. As I arrived the putting green was being rolled and the greens out on the course were fast and rolled true which is exactly what you want. My favourite visual was standing on the 9th tee with water either side and bunkers lining the right side of the fairway, as you stroll down the hole you can see the wonderful short game area to your left. I would recommend a buggy for this course in the heat but I think that’s a given anywhere on the island this time of year, that being said it’s a much easier walk than Tamarina. I paid £180.00 when booking online which included the buggy which is about £50.00 more than you’d pay at others such as Tamarina and Paradis but it is worth the extra without doubt. The only thing I’d say is that the pace of play wasn’t great but given where you are you don’t mind! Without doubt if I come back to Mauritius I will be visiting again.

Stunning course in fantastic condition; would happily play there again. Given the heat, highly recommend an early tee time and getting a buggy.

Golf in a tropical paradise
The course is brilliantly laid out with some very tricky holes where water, sand and plenty of bunkers are among the main perils to worry about. If you’re straight it’s great. Stray either side and you’ll need a steady supply of spare balls. Very scenic in some parts and a great clubhouse to finish with a pint.(Round played: Feb 2018 - Score: 91 Handicap: )
