The course condition was superb; set within a rainforest, monkeys and monitor lizards were frequent visitors to the course. The course itself was green and lush, with superb fast greens and water hazards in the form of a rocky stream which meandered through the course. The course was thoughtfully designed and was a real challenge for a player of my ability, but the setting and playablility means you could spend a lifetime on this course.
There is the added bonus of the 19th hole; a 175-yard par 3 with a tough shot requiring the tee shot to clear a full 150-yards of the Andaman Sea from tee edge to green.
It set me back approx. £50.00 for nine-holes, hire clubs and buggy. The staff were very polite and courteous and I did not see a single other golfer all the while I was there, as it is so private and secluded. If you are ever in this part of the world (particulalrly staying at The Datai or Andaman Hotels) you must take a morning to play this course. It is an experience you could never find in the UK, simply because of the setting and the 100% humidity!
