Great course

A great looking course, tree lined and linksy fairways. Would love to play again. No clubhouse as such. Only saw 3 other people on the course

Suitably remote and not that easy to find, fairly close to the sea (with it's own superb beach) and carved through pine forest. Designed by a German so no over-emphasis on water (just on 4 holes) and less than 10 years old but you'd never guess. Immaculately manicured with large undulating greens which weren't as fast or as grainy as you'd expect. Almost every hole enclosed by pine trees. Secluded but a few villas are being built so may not be as nice in 20 years time - those who played Torrequebrada in the early 70's will know what I mean - transformed from remote mountain scenery to endless condiminiums - same course but lost it's atmosphere, be a shame if it happens here.
A pleasure to play and I saw only 4 other golfers - mind you it was warm (33C) but plenty of breeze. Good mix of long and short par 4's and the par 3's weren't easy.
After a drink at the 19th a buggy collects you and takes you down to the beach and back to your car after. Beautiful beach, clear shallow water, bar, shower, etc. Nearby is the 5 star Is Arenas Hotel which would make a good base if you can afford it. The round cost me 132 euro which included hiring buggy and full set of clubs, and this including a 10% discount for staying at the nearby Country Lodge! 70 euro just for the round.
Due to it's remoteness not likely to be overplayed but worth the visit.
