A 9 hole course in the vicinity of Ivrea, San Giovanni dei Boschi ("st. John of the woods") declares its challenge in its name. particularly difficult is the par 5 4th hole, in which any straying tee shot severely undermines the chance of making par or bogey. built on hilly and wet terrain, but with manageable elevation changes. precision is called for, in addition to an adequate supply of golf balls...having said that, it's an entertaining course if you keep your cool, and some of the holes inspire some daring tee shot with the promise of an adequate reward, like playing a pitching wedge as a shot to the green instead of a 5 iron.
