Fab course in the middle of a concrete jungle
Fabulous course & course condition with expansive driving opportunities and quick greens. There are many things I like about the course. The lovely green surroundings in the middle of a concrete jungle makes for fabulous scenery. The water bodies are plentiful and create a good amount of nervousness on every other hole. There are holes with tight fairways, and holes where you can open your arms for an expansive driver shots and iron shots. The bunkers are typically in good condition. There are a couple of holes where fairways consist of wavy lies, creating a challenge. The opening tee shot is not very nerve wrecking, which is always a good thing. Last but not the least, the hospitality is really good - people are friendly and the food is absolutely excellent. On the challenges - you need a caddie at least to guide you on the greens. All in all, highly recommended! I started playing here once a month in 2023. Caddie fees INR 700 (Excl. tip). Buggy available on hire. Green fees should be INR 5-7k (My credit card company picks up my tab!)Reviewer Rating

It’s in Chembur, which causes some confusion, as some refer to it simply as Chembur Golf Club. They do indeed welcome guests, but not on Mondays. On the ‘phone I was asked what my handicap was, but at no stage did I have to produce my certificate. No tee time booking was required: this is a turn up & play course.
Green fee: 790 Rupees weekdays & c. 1200 or 1300 Rupees on the weekends. (Exchange rate as I type: around 80 Rupees/£) Caddy extra: no charge from the club for caddy, so pay him afterwards, obviously. Pro shop recommended paying him 100 Rupees (!): he said most Westerners give him 200. So, very cheap! (His reading of the greens was interesting: always over estimating how much the ball would turn…!) Buy 100 Rupees worth of “vouchers” each for drinks as you go around: apparently change is in short supply, or something. There are drinks huts after the 5th, 9th (clubhouse) & 14th.
As you might expect, this is not a pristine paradise of a course, but it is pretty well kept & they have designed it well to make best use of the slightly limited space available without making it TOO short: I played off the back (blue) tees, giving 6189 yards. (The course is surrounded by the city on all sides.) 6 par 3s (all 180 yds + except the 10th), 8 par 4s & 4 par 5s. Take care, as you are usually teeing off across another fairway & then have to cross said fairway, with obvious associated dangers! Greens on the whole true & fast. (Wish some others before me had repaired their pitchmarks, though :-
