What the club says: Set in a picturesque valley overlooking an unspoilt panorama of rolling hills, lays Minthis Hills, an 18-hole championship course.

At an altitude of 550 metres above sea level it is a course for all seasons, enjoying cool breezes even during the summer with mesmerising mountain views. The course enjoys a historical location, encircling a twelfth century monastery, with holes surrounded by grapevines, walnut, almond and olive trees.

Designed by Donald Steel in 1994, the course has recently undergone extensive enhancement by Mackenzie & Ebert famed for their work on the British Open Championship courses, the same design company used by the R&A for many of the courses on the Open Rota. They are fervent believers that golf courses should fit into the landscape and be in-keeping with their setting.
At Minthis, the elevated tees invite everyone to ‘have a go’ yet narrow tree-lined fairways provide an exhilarating challenge, with each shot requiring careful assessment, few places are so tranquil for a friendly game.
The signature 13th hole is a challenging par 3 that has to be played to be appreciated; the green is on an island surrounded by hazardous water. Looks are deceiving and although it seems relatively straightforward it requires precision and accuracy to reach the heart of the green.

In addition to the course Minthis Hills boasts a luxurious clubhouse with a restaurant and sports bar. The team of chefs trained by Alain Ducasse offer culinary delights and first-class service set in a comfortable atmosphere where you can relax and admire the amazing scenery.

Astonishing piece of real estate. land owned by the church now developed into a wonderful golf course that runs around a monastery and vineyards and olive plantations. has its own bee hives and honey and the herb grown for the restaurant and flavouring the wine created are sublime. This is a special place of contentment and meditation. the driving range hangs off the side of a mountain. accommodation and spa facility is exemplary.Loved this experience and cannot wait to return.

Fun and some challenges

This course has some fabulous views towards the Troodos Mountains, and some exciting layouts of holes; the 10th is a challenging drive across a ravine to the fairway, whilst the famous par 3 is a surprisingly long tee shot into the island - all or nothing. Played it twice now, at different times of year; both times the conditions were not very good, scrappy tee boxes, patchy Bermuda grass fairways, but greens were ok, fairly consistent and fast. We hired clubs, which are appalling quality, and not cheap at €35 per set. For all the money spent on the buildings and infrastructure of this top class resort, that’s not good enough. The new Bar M and restaurant are amazing…. a fantastic spot , away from the golf clubhouse.

Decent course, loved the layout. The greens were being sanded when I played. Great facilities and staff were really friendly. Some of the holes are breathtaking, particularly the 10th. Would recommend and play again. It was slow but due to a group in front, once past them was good.

Holiday golf

Played with 7 others in mixed group, club house and staff lovely, friendly and helpful, fairways were not good to say the least! Greens fair, views spectacular , other golfers inconsiderate to fellow golfers! However we did enjoy our round. And if we came back to Cyprus we would probably the course again but with buggies!

My friend and I played hear twice on 9th May 2017 and 11th May 2017. It is a lovely course and do not be fooled by the easy looking fairways and greens. They can bite you when you're not expecting it. If the Golf is not going well enjoy the spectacular views. Everyone at the club is very friendly and we had a thoroughly enjoyable time. Will definitely be returning even if it is only to try and find the sunglasses I lost!.

The course was in excellent condition for such barren landscape. Was amazed at how green they were able to keep it. Different type of grass that I'm used playing on, but none the less did not do anything to harm the game. The greens were excellent and running very fast and smooth. Not much rough, which was good for me as I tend to spray the ball all over the place.
The course is very hilly, but nothing to strenuous and easily managed with or without electric trolley.
...The staff were very helpful and friendly. A lot of British people working there ,so communication not a problem. Shop and clubhouse are excellent and well stocked. Food is very pricey in the clubhouse. but as a special one off then its acceptable. .I actually won the gamer free, but the prices per round are comparable with other courses abroad. About 85 Euro per round. . Overall, I'd say that if you get a chance then play this course... I will be back next time I'm in Cyprus.

85 euros a total waste of money for what is an uninteresting narrow course in very average condition.you would not pay more than 30 quid in UK for this. New clubhouse nice but rather they spent money on course.Avoid and play Elea for same money and million times better course!

Joined MH end-July when we moved to Cyprus, cannot believe the welcome from all staff (both course and social), the course is a sight to behold and is well looked-after constantly. A real golf course as opposed to Elia, which looks like a municipal up&down in one field that farmers in UK have adopted to get revenue from. Well worth a visit if on hols, and the best value for Annual membership from all 4 Paphos / Cyprus courses, I believe. Lots of ex-Pats agree.

What a course, we played Secret Valley earlier in the week but if we had played this first we wouldn't have played any other, well maintained course, good greens, fair rough, water, a challenge for all standards of golfer. a great par-3 13th island green similar to sawgrasses 17th, loved the hole because I made the green. 50euros to play this wonderful course is a bargin, try it.
