What the club says: Cricket St Thomas Golf Club was a 9 hole course originally designed in 1932 by J.H Taylor, 5 times Open Champion. In 1955 Leonard Fisher took over the course and extended it to 18 holes after acquiring additional land. It is kept under regular maintenance by our fantastic greenkeeper team who get involved with trimming the grass to fine lengths to create the fairways and greens on each hole and managing plants and trees around the course. There are some outstanding views over the surrounding countryside while you play golf so be sure to take a look around you while you play.

Nice open course - well maintained

Good Basic Course, Play for a discounted rate and it's good value
Course is well manicured but with no irrigation, so it's at the mercy of the weather. The greens were in very good condition but are very small and not very receptive, so be prepared to run shots in. Some areas of the fairway were a little bare. There are a number of challenging holes where danger may lurk unhidden and ball may roll into, so consider this before taking a driver off the tee (which as it is a short course, is often not required). The clubhouse was refurbished over last few years and offers good facilities (there was a bit of a lack of staff on this occasion, but this is exception). Two of our society members rented electric trollies (specifically stating they needed them to last 36 holes), but only one did so, the other giving up on hole 11 (just on starting the main hilly section of the course). If you can play on a twighlight or discounted deal, it is good value and you could do worse than play a round here.(Round played: Aug 2019 - Score: 86 Handicap: 13.4)

Great clubhouse.

Nice course worth a visit

First time
Hi recently started playing golf again after about 8 years away, thought the course was fantastic really enjoyed it , stunning views & wildlife couldn’t fault it so I’ve decided to join

Challenging
Tight fairways, fast greens lovely vista. Well worth a visit supported by friendly staff, thanks for a great day

Well maintained, although recent price rise makes it less attractive
The new owners have put a lot into improving the course and it is in great condition - greens are pretty consistent, fairways are lovely, and the couple of new tees are well positioned and establishing themselves quickly. Was caught out by the price rise though, with a weekend twilight round now 30% more than it was last year. Love the course but it is not quite worth the new price.

Short course with good views

Good value
