What the club says: Nestled in the beautiful countryside of North Yorkshire and with a splendid backdrop of the rolling hills on one side and lush vales on the other, Thirsk & Northallerton golf Club is one of those parkland courses that is simply a pleasure to play. It is set in a richly agricultural area and offers superb views of the Hambleton Hills to the east and Wensleydale to the west.
Established in 1914 and extended from nine holes to its present 18 holes in 1997, Thirsk & Northallerton offers a warm welcome to members, visitors, societies and corporate parties, and offers an exciting challenge to golfers of all ages and handicaps.

Reasonably priced for time of year.Pro shop very friendly.
Found the course fairly open and well maintained.The greens need another four weeks or so to be in top condition, but all in all a good course and will be playing it again.

Played this course today. Fair test on undulating fairways. Course has been opened up resulting in excellent condition and tricky greens.

Local course
Good course with some interesting holes. Sadly due to heavy overnight rain the conditions underfoot were very muddy, but to be expected in February. Improvement works to course will make for a more enjoyable experience.Reviewer Rating

Great course worth playing

Played this course last week, varied layout but pricey for this level of course. Greens were OK but the teeing areas are very poor, some were no better than areas of fairway and uneven.

Beautiful setting, a good challenge to all levels of golfer, the greens were excellent, very true. hospitality of the members excellent and very friendly, will definitely play this course again.

First rate course. At his suggestion the pro took me to the tenth tee to avoid some four balls which had just teed off on the first and as a result I was able to play at my own speed. Greens and fairways were in excellent condition. The variety of holes demands good course management. Well placed bunkers, mature trees, narrowish fairways and a few water hazards require careful shot choice. All set in a picturesque area. Well worth the visit.
