Lush, parkland golf course

I was playing the day after some heavy rain, there were soft spots on the course but it drains very well. The course is a parkland course with defining trees most holes. the fairways were in good condition, the greens were true and fairly fast. The semi rough was tricky as the ball sat down in damp grass. The lay out has a lot of straight par 4's which played long due to the soft fairways. The 5th is a bit strange as you walk back to the tee from the green. The bunkers were well placed and mean you have to make decisions of where to aim for various shots (risk and reward). The 17th was an unexpected short par 4 with a strong par 4 to finish (water in front of the green).
I played early and the green keepers were hard at work, they didn't stop working while I was trying to play shots. It was nice to see them marking all the lines around the course.

Worth a visit

Played on route back to airport after playing Ballyliffin GC 36 holes in one day we found this online . The pro made us feel very welcome and we thoroughly enjoyed the round after the test the day before we had shower and full afternoon meal which was very enjoyable. Many thanks ,the groundman deserve full credit after the storm damage the few days before the course was excellent

Awesome course

One of my favourite, long course. The setting, layout of the course is absolutely great. Play great and it will reward your day out. Play bad and it will show. Definitely will be back to improve my game.

Great course in superb condition

Great value, and a course being a MacKenzie(Augusta) design, what a layout.

Old course, big trees and tightish fairways. fairways and greens were in great condition.

good food too , all in all a great day at a very reasonable price.

Really nice woodland course. Matured trees all around make for big challenges off the tee. The course is in superb condition and the greens are a pleasure to putt on. When you get on to the course its hard to believe you are on a main road on the outskirts of Belfast, feels like the middle of the countryside at times! Course I would say is a real challenge to all level of golfer without being too daunting for the high handicapper. Wonderful round can be had here.

Played here for the first time today. Agree totally with the previous review, however I came on to commend one particular aspect of the course. The entire course in general is excellent and very well maintained. Good for beginners or less confident drivers as most of the fairways are generous. I thought the tee boxes were superb - some of the best I have seen and I noticed this as many other courses seem to forget about that part of the course. I am off now to look at membership rates. A must see for those who have not

A traditional parkland course near Stormont, not far from the centre of Belfast. A course with only 1 par 5 and 3 par 3s, and a number of long par 4s. Keep it straight and you'll be fine, but miss the fairway and the trees will limit what you can do.
The grees are always in excellent condition and quick too, playing here in the middle of a dry summer will test your skill (not that there's been many hot dry summers lately though!!)
It's a fair test though, and good value.
Also can recommend the burgers in the restaurant!!
