What the club says: Construction of Southern Valley began in January 1998 on 138 acres situated in Shorne just south of Gravesend in Kent. The site was originally Gravesend Airport, which was actively in use during the 2nd World War and overlooks the Thames Estuary. The course has been designed and built in sympathy with a traditional Links Course. It features large greens and tees and undulating fairways. The subsoil is predominantly chalk and this provides excellent drainage conditions. The tees and greens have been built to the most modern specifications and this ensures no temporary tees at any time of the year.

Good course

I enjoy playing here as my local pay and play course.... It's a shame it will be closing down as the land has been sold to the Tunnel developers ????

Lovely course, greens are watered and true, fairways are bone dry and very hard! Sand in the bunkers is also hard and full of stones

Top golf coarse

Probably the best all year round golf course in kent.shame it will no longer be a golf course after August being sold probably more houses to add to the over stretched strain on the area .a bit expensive but it is what it is. Great lay out club house which the area needs.ideal for all sorts of functions just a shame it's going.

This is a great winter course as the drainage is excellent. Money has been spent in recent years on its upkeep and it's a far better course for this. Not the most challenging, very forgiving in places but always fun.

OK course

Good course for beginners/high handicappers as it's very open with few hazards, relatively forgiving and many short holes. A bit featureless and holes become a bit samey. We played on a Sunday, plenty of people about but no problems with pace of play. Course in decent condition considering the rain and time of year. Clubhouse modern and smart. Only downside was I felt that it was overpriced (£35).
