What the club says: Scoonie Golf Club is situated in the seaside town of Leven in the Kingdom of Fife and is one of the seven courses which form the Fife Golf Trust. It is a 5476 yard long par 67 parkland course and is open to visitors with bar and catering facilities available. Visiting parties are welcome.
Originally opened as a 9 hole course it has been extended over the years to the present layout of 18 holes which was designed in 1936 by James Braid and provides sufficient challenges to maintain the interest of low handicap golfers whilst remaining within the capabilities of the higher handicappers.

Reviewed Dec 9 2014 by Bryan S - rated 5 out of 5 This course is kept in excellent condition by Derek, Chris and the odd helper of which there should be more of as it really needs more than 2 full timers to keep and maintain an 18 hole course to a good standard. In saying that they do a great job and we usually play on the main greens most of the year. Unfortunately the course is let down by the lack of amenities. The club house cafe is very rarely open, but when it is the staff are very friendly.

The one thing I would say is that, in my experience up to now, there is a distinct lack of etiquette very evident. Bells on the course to indicate it is safe to play are seldom (if ever) rung, other players playing at an inappropriate time (putting on a green and a second shot being played literally 5 yards from us resulting in a trolley being hit and missing players by feet with no apology or awareness from the guy playing it) - there are rules to observe and sadly, this course's players do not seem to be aware of them.

Reviewed Oct 14 2012 by Richard B - rated 3 out of 5 Very warm welcome on arriving at the course,good friendly staff,clean compact clubhouse with very well run catering.Unfortunately the course itself was showing lots of surface water but still in decent condition despite having had constant overnight rain.and days of almost constant wet stuff!! Greens in very good shape considering and the course layout it forgiving but enjoyable.Overall a very good experience.
