What The Club Says
Founded in 1895 Rowany golf club is a well maintained course with a newly installed irrigation system. There are some excellent views over the Irish Sea from the seaside town of Port Erin. This 18-hole heathland course has six testing par fours, two par threes and an uphill par five fifth hole on the front nine. The tenth is a par five and together with the last holes cut through gorse and rough. The clubhouse comforts will be a welcome sight at the end of the round. Many maintain that the seventh and twelfth holes, both par fours, are the most challenging of the course.

You Must Play this Course!
Not the greatest golf course you’ll ever play and probably not the best course on the island. But you will be hard pressed to find a warmer and more friendly welcome than at Rowany Golf Club. Never planned to play here but on a golf trip to the island, we were unable to play at Mount Murray due to mist and low cloud. All the staff and members at Rowany welcomed us and gave us a day to remember. A slightly “quirky” course, that plays much harder than it seems on paper, mainly due to the tight fairways, difficult approaches to many of the greens and a wind that never dies down. Stunning views of the course throughout, despite the weather - the view from the tee of the elevated par 3 8th is stunning. And we were assured that the views out to sea on a clear day are amazing. Add to this an excellent pint of Guinness in the clubhouse, the words, “hidden gem” don’t do this course justice. If you are visiting the island, play this course. Rowany - Isle of Man
Tricky little course that’s sits above port Erin bay with beautiful views. Course was in good condition with only a couple of greens with moss patches. Greens were very quick and the wind was in full force making scoring very tricky.Reviewer Rating

Great Course
Some really challenging holes, with quick greens. Beautiful views of surrounding areas and Port Erin bay in back ground of a view holes on the back 9. Weather was really good, which helped as previous games i have played their wind has been made the course really tough.Reviewer Rating

Lovely Course
Very windy today, but lovely course with tough greens and tough fairways with lots of rough just off fairways.(Round played: Aug 2021 - Score: 89 Handicap: 11.3)

Great even in the WIND

Pick of the holes were the par 5 5th, the "dropshot" par 3 8th and the par 4 12th. However some of the holes especially on the front 9 seem identical.
Overall, accuracy rather than power is rewarded here..
