What the club says: 2nd best 9 holes course in the UK and 6th best 9 hole course in the world.
This unique course is set on a SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) site, has some of best views in Surrey as it looks over the North Downs and even has it's very own Windmill.

Although it has 9 greens there are 18 different tees and is played as either 9 or 18 holes. The course was lengthened in the 70's and now measures 5664 yards but still mostly follows the original layout. Peter Alliss hosted the 'A Round with Alliss' television series here in 1982, where he played with Dame Kiri Te Kanawa and Eric Sykes. It may not be long but it is tight, with quick greens, heather and tough bunkering.

The Heathland is renowned for its all weather playability. Sandy top soil and heather have been perfect natural companions on golf courses since the game began and this proves the case as the course is very playable all year round.

Was there a stand out hole? No! Was there a weak hole? No! Nine greens, 18 tees and being on heathland I presume the fairways will remain in the same condition throughout the year. When we played the greens were in great condition, firm but not fiery, a properly struck shot would respond.

First time round here. Interesting 9 hole course with 2 tees on each hole, most of which make some difference to first and second 9. Lovely club house peached up high with great views across some of the course and surrounding land. Course itself was very nice, in decent condition and greens rolled well. Would play it again.

A bit of a disgrace all round. We booked 8 of us to play 18 over 3 tee times. Once you get to the 10th hole people playing off 1st absolutely chaos and no organisation or etiquette. Members are an absolute disgrace and think they own the place. Putting pressure on us to hurry up even though we were waiting for people in front and taking no longer than anyone else. No way to treat people who want to get round as quickly as anyone else and enjoy their day. A bunch of miserable old men bullying people when all anyone wants to do is enjoy there day and a have a round. Luckily for our group we could stand up for ourselves but this would not encourage anyone new or young that has old miserable gits as members to take up golf. For that reason we will never be back which is probably what they want and the heath should seriously look into how there members treat other people

Best 9 hole course I have played

Played a 4ball here - we weren't sure whether it would be a good choice, and was persuaded by previous Golfshake reviews. We were not disappointed - the course is varied, and not easy off the whites. Greens superb. Landscape stunning and the clubhouse patio is a great place to view it from. The difference between the tees for front & back 9 is not huge. Merging of people playing 9 & 18 holes meant it was a bit crowded at beginning and only works if people are polite and patient.

Little Gem

This course is beautifully laid out with some of the best greens I've played this year. Couple this with the absolutely stunning views makes this little course a super little gem.

Great 9 hole course

As the title says this is a great 9 hole course. Challenging in places and forgiving in others. If you have not played well worth doing so.

Loved it

My friend and I liked getting round the 18 holes in less than 3 hours as they insist on 2-ball or Foursomes golf in the mornings. The greens were really fast and we played there because the course we were due to play was closed due to rain. Reigate Heath was dry as a bone and very playable so I had to write this review. Will play again for certain as it was a good test and has beautiful vistas all around the course.

Reigate Heath is a challenging but rewarding 9 hole heath-land course that offers great playability to all handicaps. The course drains well in the winter and the greens are excellent for the time of year. Would highly recommend a visit.

Excellent 9 hole heathland course offering a competitive test to all abilities. Off the back tees, a couple of the par 3's are in-excess of 200 yards, whilst the par 4's off a mixture of short birdie-able holes and some more challenging tests to narrow greens. The course drains well and played extremely well after heavy rain the day before.

Lovely, true heathland course. It may be short & 9 holes but this is a proper golf course, interesting and challenging holes with very different pin positions for the second 9 (at least for the 1st 6 holes) which makes it feel more like 18. Not easy to find your way around for the 1st time (the club are restricted in putting up signs as the land is leased from the local council). Nice clubhouse, friendly people, good food and Harvey's on tap.

great course, causes you to think what club to take more than other courses, not driver on the par 5's always. some pin positions caused me to take an extra club and if you dont catch it right the course will punish you. bunkers are very deep and a good shot is needed to get up and down to save the par.

Tight course and off the tee is essential as the gorse and Heather is very difficult and adds a few shots. The different tees do change the shape on some holes but not all.

Don’t be fooled into thinking this is an easy course just because it has only 9 holes. If you can play a good round here, you can play anywhere! The course requires accurate shotmaking, otherwise there's lots of heather and gorse waiting to gobble up your golf ball. Greens are always in good condition. Two sets of tees for each hole allow it to be played as an 18 hole course. Nice, recently renovated clubhouse with spectacular views over the surrounding countryside. As the course is on common land, it gets used by quite a lot of dog walkers and ramblers, but they are usually understanding and accommodating towards the golfers.
