What the club says: Don't be put off by the steep climb on the approach road to this course. This is only the access to base camp, you might say. But on the course there are plenty of reasonably level lies that make for some excellent challenges.
There are, however, two precipitous climbs at the 10th and the 11th. From the 10th tee it is straight up the side of the hill and, if you're lucky the ball will stick where it lands or it may find itself back on the tee. The locals tend to tee high and let it fly! The views back over Galashiels, as you clamber onto the 10th green, make the ascent worthwhile.

Mr McLaren

Would avoid. Lots of climbing, blind shots, and worse of all fairways which are at an angle so impossible to avoid running down into the rough.

We played this course for the 1st time on our way up to Kelso. It's a small club and it was pay in the Honesty Box. We chose this one as it is a James Briad course. It's a 9 Hole course Standing on the 1st tee you see a long hole up a steep hill. But don't be put off as the panoramic 360 degrees views are amazing. The course is challenging with some long Par 5's . A good test of golf and very enjoyable. We didn't sample anything in the clubhouse as it was closed.

This course is a bit of a hidden gem. I\'ve played here a few times and it has been in great shape every time. Yes, it is a bit hilly, but if you are up to it, you will be rewarded with a great round on a beautiful, quaint 9 hole course. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a cheap round of golf in the borders. You would be hard pressed to find anywhere that can give you such great value for money.

I'm always amazed playing at golf clubs where it's all shut up and you have to pay in an honesty box. That's what I faced when I showed up at Galashiels GC late this afternoon.

This is a 9 hole course with separate tees on a number of the tees. For those with health issues, that means you have to climb up to the 1st/10th green on two occasions, which I imagine might cause a few issues for some players.

I'm not a big fan of holes where you aren't quite sure where you're supposed to be aiming, so not a big fan of the 2nd
