What the club says: Our Golf Club is situated by the village of Southend in a glorious setting on the south coast of the Kintyre peninsula.

The course is a fine Par 66 18 hole natural links extending to 4,799 yards. High and low handicappers alike will enjoy its testing layout, the springy turf on the undulating fairways and arguably one of the finest set of greens in Scotland.

Spectacular views over the landscape, Sanda Island to the south, Ailsa Craig and Ayrshire to the east and Northern Ireland to the south west, will add to the golfer’s enjoyment of this challenging and exceptionally well maintained course

Great little course full of character and charm. First thing to note was the use of electric fences to keep the cattle of the greens. Lovely setting hugging the coast. Lots of short par 4 and par 3. Had a great afternoon.

Fantastic short course, entertaining old style golf, blind approaches, holes on shelves, holes in hollows, luck plays a part. Wonderfully scenic, views of the coast and inland. Compared to Shiskine, for instance, this course is much better. Course in superb condition - true running consistent greens, well maintained fairways.

Sunny day but very windy which made it very testing on the front 9. Greens are improving after a very wet winter.

First few holes are a little strange but after these course becomes much more challenging. Greens are great and in excellent conditions couldn't spot one pitch mark. Make sure you play this course if on the Mull of Kintyre a great warm up for the Machrihanish courses

We arrived to a huge lake on the 18th green after a thunder storm and were told what do think boys, we went out and the course was fantastic, only one hole that had surrendered to a big puddle around the hole. By the time we got back to the finishing hole the lake was gone and we had enjoyed ourselves greatly on a course that was in fantastic condition considering what it had gone through a few hours before. Well worth a visit for the course, the scenery and the welcome.

This club and course are a credit to the people who run it, very friendly and in stunning condition, greens and fairways and the views are fantastic. If you are in this area you must come and play it, you will love it and on Saturday when we played it we had glorious sunshine, what more could you ask for.

I have had the pleasure of playing Dunaverty 3 or 4 times and can say that it one of the most fun courses that you will ever play!

Its not a champoinship course by any stretch of the imagination but the holes are mostly excellent and the condition of the course has always been top class.

Stand out holes for me are the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 11th, 12th, 14th and 17th.

If you are in the area to play the more "proper" course to the north west at Machrihanish add Dunaverty to your intinery, you will not be disappointed.

This course is a must play. You will play the first 3 holes thinking what have I paid for here. However the goldfish bowl of a 4 green and then the drive over the sea for the 5th suddenly makes you realise that it was well worth it. The 17th you have a decision where to hit the green with your second over the sea or lay up. Great course and a must play.

A hidden gem of a course relatively short but very challenging due to an excellent design. Full of stunning views and breathtaking tee shots.
