Pleasantly suprised

Played for the first time - lovely course, particularly the front 9 next to the River Dee. Nice mix of holes too and the hospitality was excellent. Worth a trip, the green fees were a bit on the steep side I felt (?80).

Attractive layout

Attractive layout - part links, part parkland. Vulnerable to heavy going after lots of rain, but when dry is an enjoyable course with great views across the R Dee to N Wales.

Above average

Started the day with a coffee and bacon barm. Best barm and coffee I've had in a long time and set me up nicely for the society comp I was playing in. The wide fairways and flat terrain coupled with the views across the Dee estuary made this a course Ideally suited to an OAP like me. After the game the clubhouse facilities showers changing rooms immaculate. Bar staff very friendly, service impeccable. We will be back as no doubt once the weather improves the course will follow.

Wow

Considering the recent wet weather the course was in fantastic condition. 3 temporary greens due to remedial work, all the greens in great condition. Couple of mats for teas on par 3s. If you want to play winter golf you couldn't play anywhere better. Great views over the estuary. All very welcoming and good reasonably priced food. What more do you want in the winter. Will definitely returning.

A joy to play this links/parkland course.

A delightful course with great views over the Dee estuary to the Welsh hills and Liverpool Bay. A mile up the Dee estuary from Royal Liverpool, a challenge into the wind on the shore-side holes. A mix of good, tight fairways and moderately fast greens. Rough can be penal on some holes, interspersed with gorse and trees. The few water hazards can also catch the unwary.

I have played this course a couple of times and always walk away feeling I have had a great day. The thing I love most of all about Caldy is that it is a fair test of golf , with some beautiful holes .the 3rd is a wonderful dog leg right playing to a green with an infinity view across the Dee estuary ,many of the holes have their own unique design quirks which challenge and make you think. The 17th is a wonderful par 3 protected by a meandering brook. I play off a handicap of 7 and think this course is a fair test of golf no matter what your handicap. The clubhouse is welcoming, the members friendly and helpful, I would recommend anyone to give this course a try , you;d struggle to play golf in a more picturesque setting

I had waited to play this course for ten years tried to play it but was out of my price range..it's early in the season but courses above the £50 a round mark should be in excellent condition not on temp greens.
accept for the couple of holes near the estuary I found the course a bit bland, I was expecting pot bunkers with reverted faces (open style ) no such luck.
The clubhouse was lovely with great changing facilities, the catering

I am a member here and i love the course. The pros Alan and Ben are extremely helpful and kind. The club has a very big junior section and i love to play golf with the other junior golfers. The course is very fun and i love to play there, i especially love the 2nd hole. The golf club has really got me addicted to golf, if you ever get the chance to go there defiantly go.

Course in good condition but quite a lot of work being done on front nine and pin positions all forward. Greens, as ever, difficult to gauge speed of being early in the year. Lovely course.

Good course right on the coast, sadly I played it when the hail and snow was sideways for the first 3 holes and the wind was 40mph for the whole day but the greens were good and the overall course in very good condition for the beginning of March

Great course, however extremely challenging. The front 9 were so hard and a strong cross wind did not help. Back 9 were a bit disappointing after such a great front 9.
