What the club says: With a growing reputation, Aboyne has hosted on behalf of governing body ‘Scottish Golf’ a variety of national and regional competitions.
Honoured to be chosen by the R&A to host the LGU 'Coronation Foursomes' Finals in August 2018. Proud host of 2016 Scottish Women's County Finals. Host of Scottish Golf Junior Open Regional Qualifier 2017.
Aboyne has won many plaudits as one of the best manicured, varied and challenging inland courses in Scotland always maintained in pristine condition. The ultimate course of two halves, parkland and heathland, which challenges golfers of all abilities particularly the back nine featuring the unique topography based on historic medieval farmland.
Surrounded by heather capped mountains and sprawling pine forests, Aboyne is a captivating setting renowned as one of the most beautiful golfing venues in Scotland. Located under an hour from Aberdeen International Airport, we are only 70 miles from St Andrews.

Fsbulous Course
A top quality course. Great facilities, clubhouse, staff and course. Possibly one of the best lookedc after courses I've ever been to. Greens and fairways immaculate. Well done to greenkeeping staff!. Didn't play as well as I hoped but on our weeks tour of Scotland this was voted the top course.Reviewer Rating

Aboyne golf course

Played in the Royal Deeside Golf Week and had a very enjoyable time. This is my 3rd time at this event and I have enjoyed all 3 times.It was very well organised considering the number of people playing.
Out of the 4 courses Aboyne is my favourite but they are all interesting in their own way.

The condition of the course was good, although the greens could have been faster. The staff in the clubhouse were friendly and efficient , the menu was varied and the food good.

Royal deeside
Me and 2 friends had travelled up from the Lake District for the royal deeside competition over 4 days. The first course was aboyne on the Monday, stunning course, very good greens and beautiful sights of the surrounding hills etc. It has some quirky holes on the back 9, and a great par 5 to start with on 10. Great facilities very friendly staff etc, I would really recommend playing aboyne if you are get up that way!Reviewer Rating

The course was good except for the part round at 10th and 11th. Fair course.They 4 day competition could maybe be revised. Having four days stableford is a bit boring. The updates, etc were great. Thanks for your hospitality.You should also stop playing with the people you know. It is a chance to meet new people and playing with different people would be more friendly.

A beautifully maintained course mixing parkland and hillside. Greens were excellent. Clubhouse was restricted in service due to Covid but staff were excellent thoroughly recommend playing Aboyne

Great Course
I played Aboyne with a group of 8, the course layout is excellent with a real classic back nine.Having played it several times over the years, the club takes great pride in how its turnout - we all agreed it was the best conditioned course we'd played - from tee's to greens.
The views are terrific and the course was not too busy so we enjoyed a great fun round of golf on a challenging but very playable, friendly, scenic course!!!!!
Highly recommend to any level of golfer.

Three of us played the course and loved it. Some tough holes. The condition was excellent, the greens ran fast and true. The pro shop is well stocked to suit all levels and the lads are welcoming and helpful.We will definitely be back. ????
