Footjoy unveil new Contour Casual for 2013

By: | Mon 01 Oct 2012

FootJoy is set to take another giant step in the spikeless golf shoe market following the launch of its 2013 Contour Casual collection. This stunning lifestyle-infused, hybrid shoe has undergone a number of design tweaks to bring a fresh new look to a shoe that has been developed using identical construction techniques to the brand’s Contour Series™ franchise, the world’s best-selling golf shoe. Designed to be worn both on and off course, the Contour Casual was only launched in May this year and has already received instant acclaim amongst retailers and consumers alike, with stocks selling out in record fashion.

Providing golfers with the ultimate in comfort, fit, flexibility and style, the 2013 Contour Casual range incorporates a completely new upper pattern design that is highlighted by a colourful saddle option and plain toe blucher. Available in a variety of fashionable colour options, this lightweight casual golf shoe has been crafted from the finest luxury full grain leathers to deliver excellent support, fit and durability as well as a premium look.

In-shoe technology includes, a Contoured Platform for superior support,  super soft Athletic Mesh linings for added touch and feel comfort, a flexible contoured lightweight PU Fit-Bed that provides additional cushioning and a Contour last that has been designed to closer match the shape of the foot. Outsole technology is highlighted by an EVA midsole that delivers soft cushioning and a Spikeless DuraMax™ rubber outsole that is durable, flexible and provides comfort and excellent traction.

"The Contour Causal has become an instant hit for FJ since we first launched it in May this year, with demand surpassing expectations,” commented Russell Lawes, European Marketing Manager – FootJoy. “The response from retailers to the 2013 re-design has been extremely encouraging and I firmly believe the new styling reflects the ever-changing fashion demands of the modern golfer. This shoe is the ideal option for the golfer who enjoys the convenience of wearing the same shoes from the practice area to the clubhouse, but still demands the premium materials, comfort and style that FootJoy has delivered for over 100 years."

The new Contour Casual will be available in a variety of sizing options, including whole and half sizes in both, medium and wide widths. On sale from the beginning of November it will have a suggested retail price of £87.50. Five contemporary colour options make up the collection: Black with Taupe accent; Taupe; Coffee; White with Steel Blue and a Light Grey trim and White with Orange and a Light Grey trim.
