Odyssey Metal-X putter emulates 2-ball success

By: | Tue 07 Aug 2012

The Odyssey Metal-X Putter series is proving a massive success and parallels are being drawn with the hugely popular 2-ball series. Initial uptake of the putter, both among golfing consumers and tour pros has been hugely impressive. Odyssey have also launched a new TV advertising campaign for the new range of putters. A sneak peek video is available below!

Neil Howie, Managing Director of Callaway Golf EMEA commented on the success of the Metal-X range:

"As we all know, to get any Tour professional to change their putter is a big ask, but we’ve had players taking Metal-X straight out into competitive play, they have been that confident with its performance,” added Neil Howie. "Yet another reason why tour pros have made Odyssey #1 in wins, top-tens and usage across the world's tours."

Callaway Metal-X Putters

The lightweight aluminum outer layer on the Metal-X putters has a face pattern unlike any other putter in golf, with oval depressions that create a mechanical lock with the ball’s dimples at impact. This mechanical lock creates more friction, which delivers a lower launch with optimised topspin for reduced skidding and the truest roll in the game through steady ball deceleration.

With a lightweight aluminum face in front of a urethane back layer, Metal-X putters – aesthetically pleasing with a sleek midnight black finish – provide golfers the crisp feedback of a metal striking surface with the benefits of a softer feel for optimal touch.

The Metal-X putters are available in the following: Core models (#1, #6, #7, #8, #9, and Rossie) plus 2-Ball and D.A.R.T., and Belly and Long. The D.A.R.T. and #7 Metal-X models are available in both Belly and Long putters, while the #1 is available in a Belly model.
