Are these the best putters that money can buy?

Expecting a new flashy putter to make you a wizard on the greens is a short-sighted assumption that will leave you bemoaning over why you splashed £500 on a piece of metal rather than a holiday.

Nevertheless, the right premium putter can vastly improve your game over time, as long as you understand where your shortcomings are.

Putter technology has experienced a sharp period of evolution, with the rise of zero-torque, improved roll technology and 3D-printed manufacturing, all with the aim of creating stable and forgiving flat sticks to help you sink putts.

These new putters are not cheap, which is why it is important to get fitted and test a variety of designs to make sure your hard-earned money is well spent.

Toulon Golf Collection

Toulon Golf has launched their 2026 Collection Series, featuring an array of stylishly designed premium putters, each providing specific perks that can improve your efficiency and swagger on the greens.

Formerly operating as Toulon Design under Odyssey, the Toulon putter line gained traction from multiple wins on tour and as of 2023 relaunched independently once again. They manufacture bespoke premium milled putters and the 2026 Collection is the purest range yet.

Toulon has taken its hugely popular Deep Diamond Mill face and refined it even further, elevating its ability to promote a pure consistent roll while dialling in the perfect harmony between ball speed, sound, and feel at impact.

Premium putters are not judged solely on performance and must also score high on style points. The Midnight Blue finish on the Toulon collection oozes class, and the designs match this aesthetic with a less is more philosophy creating an understated elegance.

Here is what Toulon are offering for 2026, from popular models reimagined, to entirely new designs.

Let's start with the Blade putters.

The Boston

Boston Putter

This one goes out to the hordes of golfers who reluctantly switched from their beloved blades to higher MOI mallet models, sacrificing retro style for performance. The Boston might just be your rebound.

The Boston is a traditional blade with a modern finish, sporting a luxurious midnight blue finish and signature diamond milling. However, its elongated long-neck H3 hosel creates significantly less toe hang compared to a traditional blade, reducing face rotation and actually suiting players with a straighter stroke path.

Not only are you getting the enhanced feel from a blade for longer putts but also the confidence from close range. Toulon have breathed a lease of life into blade putters and we’re here for it!

Hollywood H1

Hollywood Putter

Toulon’s popular blade model has been refined for 2026. The design is as elegant as ever blending traditional design with modern aesthetics, and now features an improved diamond milled face and a modified tri-sole design.

One of the reasons mallet putters inspire more confidence than blades is the way they rest flat to the ground, promoting cleaner strikes. The Hollywood’s tri-sole tackles this issue with a flatter centre section allowing the blade to rest flat with a gentle heel and toe relief ensuring clean turf interaction on arced strokes.

Austin H1

Austin Putter

Toulon have made subtle design changes to the Anser style Austin, with softer shoulders rather than sharp edges to create a smooth flowing look.

It features a single line alignment aid as opposed to the dot on the Hollywood and Boston giving you an option based on preference.

These days one of the main draws for blade putters is appearance rather than efficiency, and the Austin is a flatstick you can admire sat behind the ball.

Now it's time for a glance at the Mallet putters.

Alcatraz

Alcatraz Putter

It is hard to ignore the striking similarity to the Odyssey Jailbird shape, which has gained traction on tour, donned by the likes of Keegan Bradley, Wyndham Clark and Rickie Fowler.

Film directors make adaptations of classic movies and after the success Sean Toulon brought Odyssey there couldn’t have been a more fitting person to deliver a Jailbird sequel. The putter even shares its name with the world’s most notorious prison!

However, the similarities stop there. The Alcatraz H1 has 20 degrees of toe hang, encouraging a smooth, natural toe release, ideal for golfers moving from a traditional blade into a mallet design. Meanwhile the face balanced Alcatraz Double Bend promoted a straighter stroke path.

Both designs are fitted with the signature Deep Diamond Milled face and an aluminium sole plate, which provides the sound and feel required for a premium putter.

These mallets are the largest on offer from the Toulon 2026 collection.

Alcatraz Mini

Alcatraz Mini Putter

A compact version of the popular mallet design has also been launched for 2026.

With a similar length to a blade putter, the Alcatraz Mini is perfect for players who are seeking more forgiveness but are put off by mallet models with flamboyant spoilers behind the face.

The putter comes with an H1 hosel that delivers 20° of toe hang, making it ideal for golfers who have a natural arcing stroke.

It’s also offered with a double-bend shaft, which creates a face-balanced setup for players who prefer a straighter putting motion.

Las Vegas

Las Vegas Putter

Inspired by the Odyssey Toulon that secured Xander Schauffele a PGA Championship and Open Championship in 2024, the Las Vegas has the DNA of a certified birdie machine.

Softer curves and a sleeker back give it a clean look and a satisfying sound and feel, with three bold sight lines that perfectly frame your ball.

The milled aluminium sole plate on the Las Vegas redistributes weight to the perimeter increasing MOI and forgiveness.

The H1 design comes with a tour-inspired plumber’s neck and 20° of toe hang, making it a great fit for players with a slight arc in their stroke, while the H7 features a flow neck and 33° of toe hang, designed to suit golfers with a more moderate arc.

Monaco

Monaco Putter

A new mallet design for 2026, the Monaco is similar to the Las Vegas design but without the empty space between the fangs. Instead, there is one bold line across the centre of the club head providing a contrasting visual aid to square up putts.

The sharper angles give it a futuristic flashy appearance rather than classical elegance, like a Lamborghini rather than an old school Jaguar, so still very much premium.

The front is made from strong stainless steel, while the back and wings use lightweight aluminium. This design moves the weight forward for better control, while still keeping the putter very stable and forgiving.

With 20° of toe hang, the Monaco H1 suits golfers with a slight arc in their stroke, especially those switching from a blade putter.

The Monaco H4.5 has 45° of toe hang and is designed for players with a more noticeable arc. It gives you the feel of a blade with the added stability and forgiveness of a mallet.

The 2026 Collection has an RRP of £599, while Heavy Spec models have an RRP of £649.
