Alex Noren What's in The Bag 2025
European Ryder Cup vice-captain Alex Noren continued his stunning winning renaissance after claiming the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth for a second time.
The Swede, who also won the British Masters last month, defeated France's Adrien Saddier in a play-off as the rain began to fall over the DP World Tour's flagship tournament.
Now 43, Noren has completed a remarkable recovery from injury with these two victories, taking him back inside the top 20 in the world.
"The play-off felt a little bit easier than maybe the 72nd hole, a little bit better conditions," Noren said. "I thought I hit that one in the water, but I had a great lie so I tried to put it up here on the right side of the green and then got fortunate with a good break that the chip was sitting quite nicely.
"I saw his ball didn't catch as nice a break maybe, so it makes a difference. Sometimes it comes to you easy and sometimes you've just got to fight. Today it felt like a fight. I think he probably outplayed me tee to green, but that's how it goes."
Part of Luke Donald's backroom team at Bethpage Black, some may have wished to see Noren part of the side himself on current form, but his experience will be invaluable behind the scenes in New York.
