Minimal Golf Announces UK Launch For Sustainable Golf Bags
California based golf bag company Minimal Golf has announced its expansion to the UK, bringing their high-quality stand and trolley bags to British golfers through a partnership with EuroSelect Golf Stores.
Established in 2019, Minimal Golf is renowned for their innovative and environmentally responsible products and its dedication to sustainability and simplicity to ensure that they provide the best products for both players and the planet.
Minimal Golf has a strong environmental focus, with a goal to reduce, recycle, and repurpose whenever possible. The company is committed to partnering with sustainability initiatives that align with their values and promote environmental preservation.
Sam Goulden, CEO and Founder of Minimal Golf, said: "With our experience in making premium golf bags we want to leave our mark. We strive to make our product sustainable via the use of high-performance nylon adapted from waste fishing nets recovered from our Oceans and we make them longer lasting, choosing magnetic closures over traditional zippers."
The first two products available in the UK are the Terra 8.5” stand bag and the Gaia 9.5” trolley bag, both of which have been tested during the summer by Golfshake Ambassador Ed Dimambro. Read more below.
Sam commented, "We have worked with our global team to develop the right bags for each region and are delighted by the response received from EuroSelect to the potential Minimal Golf has to make our mark on the golfing landscape outside of our homeland."
Nick Tempest, General Manager of EuroSelect Golf Stores, added: "The opportunity to work with Minimal Golf and present a unique golf bag brand via our independent network of retailers is an exciting venture for us. We look forward to the journey with Minimal Golf to bring to market a progressive and sustainable brand that should appeal to our customers."

First thoughts are I really like the brand and the story behind the bag with sustainability being central to the design including the featured magnetic pockets throughout. I tested the Gaia TE1 cart bag first before switching to the Terra SE1 later in the year. Both have experienced a true British summer and been caught out in the rain and have performed well keeping my items surprisingly dry both under the rain hood and in the pockets despite not being advertised as a waterproof bag.
Gaia TE1 Review
First thing to note is there is plenty of storage between the pocket design on this bag, so plenty of room for waterproofs, accessories, balls, and all the various items you would want to have out on the course with you. The 14-way divider at the top has a premium look and feel with the velour lining, which gave me confidence that this area won’t let me down over time as with other bags I have had, this section becomes worn down quickly and then poses a problem with wear on graphite shafted clubs in particular.
The base of the bag allowed it to sit nicely on my electric trolley and restrict twisting during play (a personal bugbear of mine with other bags I have had).
This bag has quite a large cool pocket which has been great for summer days playing in the heat as you can comfortably fit in a couple of double walled bottles to keep your water cool but can also pop in some snacks (chocolate, etc) that typically wouldn’t fare so well in the heat in other pockets. The added bonus with the magnetic pockets being that you can access any areas of the bag whilst making minimal noise, so those easily distracted will have to blame something else for a wayward shot!
Terra SE1 Review
Visually the stand bag I have in white is very appealing and regularly gets positive comments and then the follow up is asking about the brand as it’s relatively new to the UK market. I am a big fan of the subtle branding with just the bold ‘M’, minimal by name and minimalistic by nature.
Whilst appearing a little smaller than previous stand bags I have had, this bag is at home housing a full 14 club set and has sufficient pocket space for various accessories and valuables, but a compromise has to made when needing to take full waterproofs as well. There is a cool pocket to one side that easily fits a couple of bottles plus snacks as was the case with the Gaia TE1 cart bag.
I have mostly carried this bag as I found the double straps to be nicely padded and comfortable once I had adjusted them to my preference. You are able with this strap design to alter between single or double strap depending on your preference, something I haven’t seen on other stand bags I have had. It does fit onto a trolley, and I have therefore used it as sort of a hybrid bag for the best of both worlds from playing 36 holes to just nipping to the range. If I had to choose just the one, it would be this Terra SE1 for the versatility it offers over the additional space offered by the Gaia TE1, but I was impressed by both offerings equally.
