Rose Zhang Player Profile And What's In The Bag

By: | Mon 05 Jun 2023

Following great anticipation, Rose Zhang instantly fulfilled that hype by etching her name in the record books after becoming the first player in 72 years to win on the LPGA in her professional debut.

The 20-year-old overcame the formidable challenge of major winner Jennifer Kupcho to claim the Mizuho Americas Open after a captivating playoff.

Zhang's decision to turn professional came after she established herself as being the first woman to win consecutive NCAA Individual Championships, securing her status as a legend of Stanford University, following in the footsteps of Tiger Woods, who tweeted his congratulations.

"What is happening? I just can't believe it," Zhang said afterwards at Liberty National in the shadow of New York City.

"It was just last week when I won NCAAs with my teammates. To turn pro and come out here, it's just been amazing."

Zhang will take on full LPGA Tour membership after completing her finals at Stanford this week and will be a factor in the upcoming major championships, including the US Women's Open at Pebble Beach and Women's Open at Walton Heath.

What's In Rose Zhang's Golf Bag?

Rose Zhang has been a member of #TeamCallaway since the age of 13, when she was signed up as part of the Callaway Next programme, which began a relationship that has contributed to her fabulous success.

Before last week's tournament, she commented: “Callaway equipment has played such a big part in my success, and I know that this is the right decision for me. I’ve used their clubs and golf ball in every one of my wins since I was a junior, and that gives me so much confidence when I’m out on the course.”
