Quinta da Marinha Hotel Secures Global Accolades
Portugal's Onyria Quinta da Marinha Hotel has received two global accolades from Tripadvisor, recognising it as being among the top one per cent of hotels worldwide.
The five-star golf and lifestyle venue in Cascais, near Lisbon, was singled out for recognition in Tripadvisor’s ‘Travellers' Choice 2022 Best of the Best Awards’ after being named among the leading 25 hotels in Portugal in the top hotels and luxury hotels categories.
Recognising the premier hotel venues in the world, the ‘Best of the Best Awards’ are calculated based on the quality and quantity of traveller reviews and ratings for experiences, tours, activities, and attractions on the global site.
Rated on Tripadvisor as the number one hotel in Cascais, Quinta da Marinha won particular praise for its “amazing views and great location …. and excellent hotel with excellent staff.”
Announcing the award winners, Tripadvisor said: “Every year, we comb through reviews and ratings from travellers worldwide to find the best hotels on the site - and this year, yours came out on top.
“Winning a 2022 Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best award is our highest honour, great job and congratulations on your well-deserved win.”
Joao Pinto Coelho, director of the Onyria Quinta da Marinha Hotel, said: “To be rated in the leading one per cent of hotels anywhere in the world is fantastic - what an achievement!
“Here at Quinta da Marinha, we strive to offer the best possible customer experience across all our facilities, and it’s great to know that we are regarded so highly by the people that count the most - our guests.”
Located in the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, the Onyria Quinta da Marinha Hotel allows guests to enjoy nature and tranquillity with rounds of golf on the 18-hole course, designed by Sir Robert Trent Jones as a par-71 and located just a 30-minute drive from Lisbon.
In addition to undertaking a recent €5m upgrade of its hotel, the resort has carried out a number of other major renovations across the facilities, including enhancing its approach to sustainability with the installation of 553 photovoltaic solar panels.
Powering the hotel's lighting via a renewable source, the €240,000 investment will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 94,188 tons per year, minimising Quinta da Marinha’s reliance on external energy sources, and protecting them against price increases while making the resort more ecologically sound.
