What on earth is a 'clutch putt'?

Posted by: user22898 | Fri 24th Oct 2008 20:08 | Last Reply

Clutch putt.  I've seen it mentioned many times on TV golf, but what does it actually mean.  Neither my ball nor my putter has a clutch ...... I must be using an automatic stick!

Another thing, what is a lag putt. Is it something I should learn to mess-up in fine style like my normal putting?

A clutch putt is a putt occuring in a tense or critical situation.

A lag putt is a putt that is rolled close to the hole without any attempt to hole it.
