What the club says: Historic Styrrup Hall is set in 150 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds dating back to the Doomsday Book. Surrounded by stunning wood lands, you'll soon realise this truly is more than just a golf course.
The par 73 6745 yards course, from the white tees, is challenging and well presented having matured substantially since its opening in 2000. The excellent drainage guarantees play all year round, giving the course a good reputation both locally and further afield.

Very good
Played Friday 15th. Really enjoyed it. Course only had a couple of wet areas which is a miracle currently. Always have a good experience at Styrrup. Course in good nick considering recent weather.Reviewer Rating

Worth a Visit
A fairly flat long course set in mature parkland. Course in very good condition after prolonged rain. The greens were in excellent order but a little slow probably due to the rain. Hole 3 a par 5 is the longest hole I have ever played being 664 yds off yellow tees, the only comfort being straight with a generous fairway. The clubhouse is very modern after a recent refurbishment with a very good pro shop.
The only negative is the distance between tee boxes but give it a try you will not be disappointed and you will receive a warm welcome.

Upgraded course and clubhouse
If you have not been to SHGC for a while, you need to come back as it's a completely different level of good now. Bunkers are best around, fairways in great condition and cut like pro courses, refurbished pro shop, restaurant, coffee shop, golfers bay outside and newly cleaned out areas of rough. The new owners are pushing for it to become one of the best in the north and it's going about it in the right way. For me the 6th, 9th and 16th off yellows challenge any player and none of those are SI1. There is a new balcony bar overlooking the 18th for members and day golfers to use which is fantastic. Plus if you fancy treating your other half the new 71 restaurant serves some of the best food in Doncaster. Visit and you'll be very pleased you came or came back. Oh and finally the full English breakfast we had before the round, absolutely spot on!Reviewer Rating

Bad weather but good experience
Played 31st March. Thought we may struggle due to overnight rain and recent rainfall but was very happy. Course conditions were excellent considering the weather. Course nicely stripped. Greens played well. A couple of puddles in the bunkers but not surprising with the weather. New clubhouse extension looks good. Hopefully open for our next visit. Four happy golfers.Reviewer Rating

Everything just about right to give you a good day out
Although I am a regular at Styrrup HGCC I still like to put on reviews when I can so people reading them have a recent one to consider. Fourteen of us played a Ryder Cup style event here yesterday and it was superb. The breakfast was spot on and the team providing it were so helpful and understanding with the arrangements. The course was its usual well kept self, with fast testing greens, good quality fairways and tee boxes. Knowing how hard the greenkeepers work to keep the bunkers in good condition its always disappointing to be following people who land in a bunker, hit a bad shot out and then punish the "bunker" (and the rest of the golfers behind them) by half heartedly brushing a bit of sand with their club head over their bunker hole and then leaving it. You can see time and money has been spent doing up the course and when its finished it will be one of the best in its price bracket around given it stands up to the winter well too. Looking forward to watching it develop over the next couple of years.Reviewer Rating
