Very disappointing
Todays visit on the whole was very disappointing. Whilst the course was presented well for a public pay and play venue the greens were extremely in a poor state for playing. They were very slow, very uneven and appeared to actually stop the ball from rolling freely toward the target hole. The whole idea of a contactless payment only venue was also not welcomed on the day. The only good things in favour for the visit was the food and drink were very good and the staff were very friendly. The pay and display facility car park I did understand the need for and didn't distract from the day as you inputted your car reg. number into the system in the clubhouse anyway without having to pay albeit by card as well, not good.Reviewer Rating

So disappointed with the course today. Greens in shocking state, as bad as I've seen in 40 years of playing here. Bare patches, weeds, bumps and the green at the 14th looks as though it has staged a stock-car race.

Disappointed
The course whilst presented well suffered from very poor greens. They were bobbly and very slow. That not being the biggest problem it was the extremely unwelcoming arrival of our society. They couldn't have been any more non interested in us if they tried. Even in these troublesome times there was no options They wanted to try for us. 21 players ended up in small groups outside in the rain. It will be a long time before I return. It must be a brave business that can turn down 21's bar bills etc. Disappointed covers it all.Reviewer Rating

greens were in a poor condition - appeared as if they were suffering from some sort of disease. fairways and rough were both also a little tough.

Good standard pay and play course. Greens generally good to slow.
Some damp fairways along riverbank where it's slow to drain after prolonged rain.

Value for money municipal

Nice wide open fairways with well kept semi rough area. Greens are not the best very difficult to read direction and pace.

Ok course for a cheap round of golf. Tree lined and feels tight but can be forgiving off the tee in places.
The layout is good and the course has lots of potential but the greens wernt great.

Christmas winter golf, considering it was 30 December the course was in very good condition and the rain held off. Look forward to playing this course in the summer. Great day and play course
