What the club says: Sister course to Thorpe Wood, this pleasant layout was designed by Dennis and Roger Fitton initially as 12 holes in 1982. In 1987 the course was extended to the full 18 and now measures 5,613 yards with Par 67. Water features prominently throughout this picturesque course with the pick of the holes being the long dogleg Par 5 third and the short but tricky 15th where you need to carry the pond.

Leave the driver in the boot!
This is a tough course - if you are 21 handicap or above, avoid. It is super tight and both sets of 9 holes have difficult challenges. Front 9 hugs a huge lake and the back 9 is completely tree lined.Definitely leave the driver in the boot, unless you are Rory or Bryson.

excellent value for money. a challenging technical course with narrow fairways and smallish green. back nine has several challenging par 3s. well maintained although can be very boggy after a lot of rain.

A tight and tricky course
Course of two halves, first is around the lake but watch out for the water midges, literally a cloud followed me the first 9 holes, not very nice.The back 9 is totally tree lined and very short, so leave the driver in the bag. I lost many balls off the tee before realising this. Also there is a public footpath parallel so a group of lads set up a picnic on the 18th tee.

Lovely short course with a few challenges
Short 'technical' course where you easily end up in the water! Well maintained for a public course and easy to get around (No hills etc). Can be very busy at week end as costs are very reasonable. NO food other than snacks on site, but Beefeater pub just a minute away.Reviewer Rating

Nice tight and therefore demanding course. Plenty of water so gets a bit boggy / Clayie when too much rain falls. A number of differing holes and ways to approach them. Enjoyable but take a few extra balls.

Probably the nicest course in the area with wife well kept fairways
This is a short course with excellent course conditions and an amazingHole 12 (par 3 with the green in a bowl). The staff in the shop are friendly and the greens are kept in extremely good condition.

Super Parkland Course
Nice course and very testing in current conditions. A course of two halves with outward 9 longer and lots of water/ lakes adding to difficulties. Back 9 much shorter but the difference makes course very interesting. Lovely parkland and well maintained for a municipal.Reviewer Rating

Orton Meadows a gem in Peterborough
This is a membership club and a municipal course. It is maintained very well for such a course and at this time of year very challenging. Very scenic with lots of lakes and well established parklands. Have to keep on fairways or your score will go out of control which is why it is so challenging. Testing short course
Don't be put off by its short length. Its a difficult front 9 but a much easier back nine.Excellent experience even when played regularly!. Take plenty of balls....

Outstanding pay n play
Played there twice this month with my pals apart from having a cool round it's picture perfect. Nice woodland surroundings, practice net and putting green. There are water hazards tricky narrow tree line shots but good for your game. Overall I really enjoyed it, well kept beautiful place.Reviewer Rating

Nice public course in great surroundings
A nice public course in great surroundings. A very tight tree laden multi watered venue makes for a very testing game. Straight hitting is a must. The greens were very good and in great condition. Unfortunately not the same can be said for the tees and fairways, need a lot of work. No clubhouse but the staff were welcoming, but alas the same cannot be said for the staff at the adjoining Beefeater!! Not friendly at all, probably don't like golfers !! Good value for money, couldn't recommend, no wish to return.(Round played: Oct 2020 - Score: 96 Handicap: 16.3)
