Play here often due to low green fees and the fact that it is rarely busy. Deserves more support from local golfers as there are very few affordable courses in the area for people new to the game. The course is ecologically maintained, with the emphasis on supporting wildlife as opposed to the average golfers\' ego. There is little in the way of short / medium rough. It\'s the fairway or certain doom. Course design is clearly to challenge all levels as water is in play on several holes and lacks any confidence building easy holes! There are a few holes which play well over the yardage due to steep hills. Also some frustrating trees and hedges in the middle of the fairway in places. Tees and greens are usually in fair condition. Not as manicured as an expensive course, but you have to remember they don\'t have those kind of resources. I think it may just be the owner that does all the maintenance. Recommended.

A natural course without the facelift of a fading movie star. Great value. Never busy. Relaxing. Easy walking front 9 and hilly back 9 with superb views. Getting round in a good number will need some strategy. The 18th will need an SW or LW to keep it on the green. A wonderful old gent maintains the course. Let's keep him in business.

Excellent value for money at £16 wkend, never busy. No clubhouse and don't expect plush conditions. Spectacular views at highest part of course. Back nine play much longer due to prevailing headwind and steep gradients and is a good test. No frills course but tougher than SSS. Could do with some trees / hedges removing from some fairways to make fairer but overall recommended.

Ok the course is not the best maintained, the rough is too long, but if you want a decent practice round, this course is good test. There will be no sitting around waiting for other golfers on the weekend (like you will at Thorpe Wood or Orton Meadows nearby) and for £15. I think the course has got lots of potential. there are some really interesting holes 4th, 5th, 15th. There are a few holes where they just need to make the fairways more playable by not having a copse of trees in the middle of the fairway 3rd, 7th, 18th or cut a bit of hedge back 1st, 17th. Getting the ball to stay on the little raised island for 18th is an irritant at the end of the round, it just needs to be a little more forgiving... But there are great views of the fens from the top of the course and this is run by a family who are always very polite and engaging. You will get to use your full bag here, enjoy it for what it is.

course is in pretty rough condition but admirable given that it is family run. certainly a tough course, especially firs time playing it as distances difficult to judge. shame there aren't a couple of short par threes. very friendly, cheap golf, so can't good on the owners.
