A lovely course well presented and a good challenge for the average golfer. Friendly and lovely club house with great fascilities.

The course was in excellent condition with fast sloping greens but the were true, personally I enjoyed the par 3's only 2 par 5's but some strong par 4's

Sonning

Stunning Sonning, beautiful course and fantastic condition. Really enjoyable round, great pace for a four ball, 3:45 mins. Perfect, apart from the sock policy... wear white socks with shorts... still don't get that rule I'm afraid.

Lovely course & very friendly

Second visit to Sonning, course was in great condition and the hospitality before, during and after was worth a mention - especially as my 4-ball voucher expired in October but the club Secretary was very accommodating in assisting in re-arranging. Good mix of holes, good greens and reasonably priced.

Played here quite a few times but this was the best condition I've ever seen it in! Greens were really fast. I'm afraid the club itself blotted its copybook. £5.10 for a small bottle of San Miguel is disgusting!!!

Good Course

Played here twice now and both times the course has been great. The greens on the second occasion has just been treated, so a bit bumpy. There are some mighty long par 4's that require a good old thump with the mashie. Quite strong par 3's, it really is a good knock, give it a go.

Good value

Teed off from 12th on pros advice as competition had just started on 1st. Course was in good condition but greens has been treated so slightly bobbly but consistent speed and fairways maybe a tad long. Friendly members and no hold ups so got round quickly. Great value as played using a hot deal so under ?40 each for a very nice course was excellent value. Nice clubhouse and decent drink selection.

Excellent course with plenty of challenges for all abilities. Green were very good although lots of stones in the bunkers. Clubhouse very friendly with excellent food.

A Wet round

With Winter Rules and a persistent drizzle the round was still enjoyable despite having to clean the ball after every shot. Greens were excellent I only needed to repair my own pitch mark. We had to hire trolleys as ours didn't have hedgehog wheels and there was only one power trolley available so I had to pull mine. We had to tee off from the 12th as there was a members roll up which would have delayed our booked tee time, but this worked out as we only had to follow one 3 ball for 7 holes and had no one following us. We didn't partake of food or drink.

A good test of golf

Played the course Monday afternoon 10th July after a hot/dry spell of weather and was pleasantly surprised to find both the tees and fairways to be in good condition due to the on course irrigation system. The greens were also very good, quite quick and putted true.
There is a good mixture of short and longer par 4's and to score well on these holes you had to be fairly straight. I really liked the four par 3's - all around 150 yards from yellow tees but they were all well bunkered to catch wayward shots - a good test of accuracy.
Unfortunately there wasn't a course map available either on the tees or on the card and lack of course knowledge cost me a high score on the last due to the the back bank of the fairway bunkers being covered in thick rough.

Score 85 handicap 16.7
