Excellent golf course. Very well looked after. Tee boxes, greens and fringes all very, very good. If you miss a green here you can get up and down as you will nearly always have a good lie and the greens are true so you can putt. Very nice bar and outside patio areas with view overlooking the course. Recommended.

Played Sonning on a lovely day before the rains plummeted down in late April. The course has recently been changed around and indeed it is only a week since all the changes have been implemented, the 1st now being the old 8th, and the 18th is now a completely new hole, a par 5 of 465 yards, and a fine hole at that. A very easy walking course, Sonning is just two years away from its centenery and the course is in a fine mature setting with many trees and substantial gorse. A number of long par 4's ensure a good test of ball hitting ability and indeed, this is shown with the rare situation of SSS being one more than Par off Whites. There are no real "death or Glory" holes, but there are also no real weak ones, and overall, it is a very satisfactory golf course that should please all who play there. As an added bonus, a very pleasant and efficient pro, and a warm welcome from all in the clubhouse for a solo visitor as I was - always appreciated

Sonning
Stunning Sonning, beautiful course and fantastic condition. Really enjoyable round, great pace for a four ball, 3:45 mins. Perfect, apart from the sock policy... wear white socks with shorts... still don't get that rule I'm afraid.(Round played: Aug 2021 - Score: 96 Handicap: 16.7)

Rude and dated - but good course
Attitude to visitors atrocious. Had driven 2 hours to play at the course, only to be greeted by an interrogation on my attire. Upon explaining I'd driven a fair distance and needed to use the changing facilities, I was "generously" told I could pay for my round once I had changed. Upon changing I was promptly upsold a pair of white socks, as clearly the definition of smart dress code, is white ankle socks only. Left a pretty sour taste. Would add the course was in excellent condition, but to be honest this is exactly the type of golf club with dated attitudes that puts people off golf.Reviewer Rating

Lovely course & very friendly
Second visit to Sonning, course was in great condition and the hospitality before, during and after was worth a mention - especially as my 4-ball voucher expired in October but the club Secretary was very accommodating in assisting in re-arranging. Good value
Teed off from 12th on pros advice as competition had just started on 1st. Course was in good condition but greens has been treated so slightly bobbly but consistent speed and fairways maybe a tad long. Friendly members and no hold ups so got round quickly. Great value as played using a hot deal so under ?40 each for a very nice course was excellent value. Nice clubhouse and decent drink selection.Reviewer Rating

I played on an afternoon with a fair green fee of £29. The course is in lovely condition and with the irrigation system everywhere was green which make a change, there are 6 holes of over 400 yards off the yellows which is a good test and the shortest par four isn't really worth going for as they have a ditch at the back of the green. Hole 16 was very tough with the wind against and all bushes and trees down the left hand side catching any errant shots. good practice facilities too

I play here once each year in a charity fund-raising event and it has been interesting to see how the course has improved over that time. It looks like a lot of money has been spent here especially over the last two or three years not just with the creation of the new 18th hole but in improving the overall quality and presentation of the course. The greens last Friday were as fast and smooth as any I have played in the last couple of years if a little difficult to hold with approach shots for a player of my modest ability (14 handicap).\A really top-notch course now and, as it is not as high profile as some in this part of the world, not frighteningly expensive.

Fantastic course
Lovely course - quite difficult ; nine holes are longer than 400 yards, seven of which are Par 4's. Lovely setting, good greens (not super fast but true and undulating). No discernible water but lots of bunkers. Some very memorable holes. Even the short holes aren't easy. Not somewhere to take an occasional player.Reviewer Rating

This course is forgiving with not a lot heavy rough and no water it well maintained and the greens and tees are well watered so are In excellent condition
