Played the course once or twice before a few years ago now. Went the other day with a few friend and was an anticlimax, very disappointing in places! At £18 (£1 per hole) I expected the greens and fairways to be of a decent condition, of which they were not (given the time of the year), in comparison to other courses in the local area. The greens were very patchy, bare in places and made putting very difficult. Fairways were also patchy and needed work in places. Although green keepers have priority, we were made to wait on several occasions to take our shots up to 3 minutes whilst they cut around areas of the green, with no smile, acknowledgement or anything when they had finished. In addition to this, having not played the course in a while, were unaware of where the bells were on one or two of the holes. Having teed off on one of the hole and kindly said hello to one of the "members" behind us they replied abruptly, "Are you gonna let us through or what! Do you know how to ring a bell" Having waited to let them through, they hit their drives and then walked to the next tee without any acknowledgement and to be quite frank, rude! Every paying member/non-member has the right to play a course and the incident made us all feel unwelcome. Although the course is in the local area, I would very much highly doubt that I will either be recommending the course to friends, nor will I be coming back to the course ever again. With me being a member of another course in the local area, I would have expected a higher level of professionalism and personal conduct from both members and green keepers alike, I wouldn't say it is too much to ask for, common courtesy and manners.

Live nearby so have play this course on average 10-15 times a year for the past 5 years.
I hate to say it but they way the course has declined over the past 24 months is scary. It used to have first class fairways, bunkers, and incredibly fast and true greens. I recommended it to everyone i knew simply down to the condition as the general layout isn't anything special but you could always rely on the condition been 1st class.
However, lately, the fairways aren't cut often enough, the rough is either too long on some holes that it is bearing on unplayable, or too short on some holes that 'rough' is non existent. Bunkers are full to the rim with hard compacted sand that collects puddles with the slightest bit of rain, and the greens, well, whatever disease they have had over the past 24 months has killed them completely. Bumps and humps all over the place. I have seen some winter greens better.
The real thing that is frustrating is the young male behind the counter who turns his nose up to everyone and is very un-polite. Also, not notifying patrons of the way the course is BEFORE they pay £25 (weekend fee) for 18 holes on what is now a below-standard course.
It really hurts to write this review but it is incredibly disappointing what has happened to this club/course over the past two years and i really do hope that they get back to the way it used to be as i would be the first to sing its praises once again.
