Hickleton Golf Club
Hickleton Golf Club is located in open countryside in the heart of South Yorkshire between the towns of Doncaster and Barnsley.
The original 9-hole course was founded in 1909 with the current 18-hole layout opening in 1976, which was designed by the Ryder Cup players Neil Coles, Brian Huggett and Mr. Dyer. Since 1976 the course has developed into one of the finest and challenging courses in the South Yorkshire region. The course is an undulating parkland course with tree-lined fairways and fantastic panoramic views over South Yorkshire and the eastern Pennines. played this today and the price was only £15 for the round. The fairways were in excellent condition and the greens superb. great course layout ,well worth a visit

Great course - really enjoyed my round here !
A good test of golf for all levels.
Quite hilly in places.
Usually in excellent condition, however, some areas can be a bit soft underfoot.
Very nice clubhouse.
I would highly recommend a visit.

Excellent course, diverse holes, uphill/downhill doglegs, very hard par 5's, nice par 3's, very pleasant on the eye. This is a course where you will play better the second time once you know what the pitfalls ahead are. A real thinkers course, fantastic!

Amazing course that was in pristine condition. However anyone with problems with hills or anyone who is in anyway lacking in fitness will have to rethink. The hills on this course are challenging just to get up walking without then having to play shots. One hill is known on the course as "heart attack hill" and can see why.
In terms of the golfing shots needed, it really tested your skills. Will do again but need to go to gym first.
