A good course that challenges you. Fairways scabby on most holes. Greens good fun. Management of tea off times could be better

Whilst about to play my second to the green the green keepers just drove straight on to the green and removed the flag, the two off them then just laughed at my annoyance and spent a good 5 minutes cutting the grass.
Their were 3 two balls including us stuck behind a ridiculously slow 4 ball who were quite happy to see us all queuing
I raised the issue at the club house and they were not interested

Greens good, weather damages fairways unfortunately
Every course is suffering with the same lack of rain issues and Rufford hasn't escaped them. Bare and scorched fairways made for difficult bounces and awkward lies, but this course is a minter when we have normal rainfall so we know it's just the current circumstances. Food beforehand was nice, nice new outdoor area was good for drinks before and afterwards. The range is great with a few quirky targets to aim at which is fun. The greens on the course were good, rather than great but it made sure we could have an enjoyable round. Of course we will be back in normal weather and enjoy it again, but that might be in a month or two if we get some rain.Reviewer Rating

Course superb..Pace of play awful!
This is the best course I have played this year and I play every week around the east midlands. The layout, design the upkeep was nothing short of excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed playing here. The one issue I did have which really did ruin the day slightly was the seriously poor pace of play. There was a 3 ball in front that could not have played any slower. I think the tee times may be bunched too close together as the course was very busy and pace was terrible. On the long par 5 on the back nine I counted 3 groups playing the hole, 2 waiting to tee off on it and two groups including me and my friend waiting to tee off on the hole after. I understand that golf isn't meant to be rushed, but having to wait 5-10 minutes for almost every shot is not good...this needs rectifying to make this course one of the best in the region.Reviewer Rating

Nice Parkland course
Greens in lovely condition but fairways quite poor. Understand that it has been dry but very bare in places.(Round played: Sep 2021 - Score: 98 Handicap: 14.7)
