What the club says: Mansfield Golf Club & Driving Range (formally known as Mansfield Golf Centre) is now under NEW ownership (from Aug 2011) by private owners and is no longer part of the 'Jack Barkers Group'. Mansfield Golf Centre comprises an 18 hole Golf Course, 6170 yds, Par 71, a 32 Bay Undercover Floodlit Driving Range, Practice Putting Green, Crazy Golf, Newly Refurbished Seve's Bar & Coffee Lounge serving traditional Espresso Coffes & Homemade food and a well stocked, up-to-date Professional Golf Shop.

Good Value for money course, obviously not going to be in the same league as its neighbour Sherwood Forest as it is £65 cheaper than that course on a weekend, but anyone wanting a good round of golf at the weekend should give this course a whirl.

On arrival club shop is packed full off great equipment at bargain prices. The staff were very friendly and helpfull. I then proceeded to the 1st tee which was a basic par 4. The front 9 are wide open and a good drive will get you in touching distance of the green, plenty of opportunities for birdies and great for beginners to experiment. The back 9 are alot tighter and there are some beautiful holes that wouldnt look out of place on a championship course. Greens were in good condition, fairways a little thin in places. At the end of the round a nice clubhouse awaits serving a good pint. Overall a good experience at affordable prices. A good course for a beginner to improve their game without the pressure of professionals up their backside.

I played this course as part of a society at the start of September
On arrival a crazy golf putting area greets you, was this an omen?
The pro shop is quite well stocked and the staff were friendly and helpful.
After the round we had a meal that was o.k, pie chips and peas
On the first hole balls from the driving range came flying onto the fairway, other ball from the range were around. Make sure you identify your ball before playing it on the first.
The course had no yardage markers, it appears to have been constructed on an old pit tip. Grass was patchy with stones visible that made me weary of damaging my clubs, one of our 4 ball had hit some of these early on in the round and had marked a club badly.
A couple of holes were memorable, one was a short par 4, you could see Sherwood golf club from the fairway, that is in a different league though. Mansfield has a number of top quality golf clubs in the surrounding area that are well establish and are a pleasure to play, but at a price. Mansfield golf club is relatively inexpensive to play, unfortunately a considerable amount of money and time will be needed to be spent on it. I will go back in a couple of years to see how the course has developed.

Very good course green much faster than last year when we played, staff very helpful and friendly, stopped for a roll up coaching lessons from the PGA professional very good value for money over all brilliant day

A cheap and cheerful course which I enjoy playing. Wide and long front nine, with a rather more challenging, narrow back nine. A good mixture of holes, unforgiving rough, and plenty of hills to walk up and down. The 11th is a real mother...
Fairways are hard and bare in patches, but it's improved and it is built on a former pit tip. Excellent driving range.

great course for beginners, I took my brother for his first round in 8 years and he really enjoyed it.
