the fee is god , but the course green were poor on some holes due to someone maing tracks across the greens .very open and windy the club house restruant ,didnt open till 9:30 am. the fairways on some greens neededtreating.god valvue fo money

Proceed with Caution
Played the course 1st August and Greens are TERRIBLE..Also, ordered Coffee beforehand and milk was off so had lumps floating in it. A shame as played previously and never had an issueReviewer Rating

not good
i guess thats why it was £20 the fairways was long and on the 11th there was what looked like flower beds of wild flowers the greens was patchy and the ball was playing bean bag race i would always say worth a round but not at the moment(Round played: Jul 2020 - Score: 109 Handicap: 28.5)

terrible condition, greens very poor. Good day out with the food and drink being decent. Very cheap

Poor but Cheap
The course has some good challenging hole layouts, but the course condition was poor. Didn't realise I was on the fairway at times as it was more like the rough. Greens were awful and one of my putts actually bobbled up about a foot off the floor. I understand it's winter and cheap but I have played cheaper courses in the winter which have been in a lot better condition.Reviewer Rating

Terrible Greens
Played here on 6th Jan, what i thought to be good value for money at £13 for 18, ended up not worth it at all. Course layout is OK with some challenges but the greens are almost unplayable. Such poor condition its impossible to even put in a straight line. parts of the green have no grass at all. Wont be returning, even if it is £13Reviewer Rating

Poor greens
At a time of year when the green should be tip top, these were very disappointing. Inconsistent with hardly any grass but for £10 on a Sunday morning I suppose you can’t grumble for a cheap knock(Round played: Sep 2018 - Score: 79 Handicap: 8)

Blakes Essex Bad Greens and Unwelcoming
Blakes was a massive let down the surroundings were fine. We played in a 4 ball with a 3 and all 2's behind us. So although there were several marshals out on the course nobody thought to pair the 2's up so the course flowed better. We let the 3 and two of the 2 balls through, On the 11th we were challenged by the captain for slow play which was unfair as we were frustrated ourselves that we were being held up once we let players through, which wouldn't happen if they managed the course better. We were also unable to get breakfast as the chef came in late and when we asked about lunch the chef was on a break. I will definitely not be playing Blakes again.Reviewer Rating
