The Valley Course (9 Hole par 27)
This 9 Hole par 3 course is without question one of the best designed and maintained in the country. Lakes, bunkers, streams and mature trees provide an interesting and fun layout. It is a great place to start to learn the game, but also a challenge to the experienced golfer.
The Weald Course (9 hole par 35)
Top professionals play here because it's so good - so do us lesser golfers as well.
A great course with some great holes. You'll want to play it again and again - always the sign of a good course. There is a good balance of holes, some long, some short, but testing all parts of your game and making you think.Contact Information

Course Information
Location
Location: From South & South East (Brentwood, Romford, Hornchurch, Upminster, Dagenham, Barking, Ilford, Walthamstow Woodford, Chingford. Buckhurst Hill, Loughton) From the Loughton/Abridge location go to the centre of Abridge and take the turning to Theydon Bois and Epping. After about 500 yards take the first right and follow the road for 1½ miles and take first left. Follow this road for 1 mile and the course is on the right just over the motorway bridge. From West, North and East (Enfield, Waltham Abbey, Cheshunt, Harlow, Chelmsford) From Epping, take Station road turning at the double mini-roundabout at the South end of Epping High Street. Follow the road for 1 mile and go under the motorway bridge and take immediate right turn. The course is 300 yards on left hand side.

Played the weald course twice to make give us round of 18.
Brilliant Condition. greens, fairways and rough were lush and lovley to play off. the greens were tricky to read but brilliant to put on. The Tee boxes were lovely to play off and an easy walk too. the staff were friendly and the price was good at a tenner for nine holes considering the quality the course it was great!
Even the pilon in play on one hole was a quirky feature but can understand some people not liking that very much.
will definitly be playing this course again and it does make for a quality quick round of nine, like woodford does. plus there's a nine hole par three course there too but maybe they should have added to the full holes instead because it just such a shame it's not a full 18 hole course!

Excellent venue for the new/inexperienced player. For the experienced player useful for short game practice on the par 3s or a quick round.

A beautiful little course in fantastic condition. Plenty to challenge a newish golfer but also rewarding to play round.
Excellent value for money and the BLT samdwich wasn't bad either.

The greens and Fairways at this complex are excellent. The better golfer may find some holes a little short but its alwyas good to have a go at a short Par 4!!. Some times it can be a pain to have to queue, no booking system but its worthwhile because the course is always in great condition.

Hobbs Cross Golf Centre, near Epping, opened for play in August 1997. In that short time it has earned a reputation as a great course, well maintained with an open welcome to all, from complete novice to experienced players.
The centre is very much a public facility - open to all. There is no membership, no booking - just pitch up and play!
Whatever your golfing ability, if you have never even played before or are a professional, we take pride in providing you with a warm welcome and all the facilities any golfer will need to learn, play and enjoy the game.
We take great pride in providing some of the best designed and maintained golf facilities and the friendliest welcome the area has to offer.
Come and try for yourself - just pitch up and play!

Course in excellent condition and great for the beginner or high handicapper. Tee's, fairways and greens very well maintained. Decent putting grean and driving range also but could do with a pro shop.

Course looked great. Very open and forgiving course, not the most challenging. Lack of yardage markers was a little bit of a problem, and the yardages of the par 3 course varried greatly depending on the tee positions.

Pay and play, never a long queue. Fairways and greens are always in good condition. Very forgiving, not very challanging course. Great bacon and egg butties after a game.

a little gem of a course great to learn how to play golf very forgiving not too long and course condition is great really well cared for credit to the greenkeepers a nice place for a nice round of golf.

out of most of the courses that i have played in the winter, this is by far the best kept (the weald par36). never played the par 3 course.

Very good condition course well looked after i was very impressed as it was my first time on this course. Have now decided to make this my regular course.
