Fantastic course, staff and facilities
Rockliffe Hall is a 5 star hotel with a lovely 18 hole course within the grounds. The clubhouse is superb and food, drinks and seating areas are all high quality. Some of the bar staff were new when we visited so things took slightly longer than we would have expected, but still good. The course itself is well manicured and has some challenging but inviting holes with plenty of water around. Well worth a visit to the course and the hotel (if you are feeling rich). The course costs ?70 a round ish and I would say its probably worth ?50-70 when compared to other courses we have been too. Disappointed to be asked for ?5 per nearest the pin and longest drive markers, took the class off the experience for me. I would go back but only as part of a visit to the amazing spa facilities within the hotel. The Mid-Week Driver package is decent and I took the wife who swapped golf for spa fun.Reviewer Rating

Superb
Great value at the price we got - an amazing venue - and lovely weather too! Our group was held up by two of our players searching for balls constantly - so a word of advice - make sure you have a provisional ready because balls can be lost 5 feet off of the fairways. Some cracking water holes - really great place.(Round played: May 2018 - Score: 98 Handicap: 15.3)

It can play as long as you want - it was a fair challenge from the yellows, with wide, relatively forgiving fairways and greens that require precise approaches to the correct spot. Some beautifully designed and very challenging run off areas that will leave you with awkward chips. Even on the shorter par 4s, scoring is enticingly difficult.
Water in play on almost every hole, again with subtle run-offs from the fairways pulling your ball towards the hazard.
Although it had been extremely wet the fairways had drained perfectly, with no standing water, and the greens were true and fast. The slopes made it very easy to race the first putt past.
The welcome at the club was great, the food and drinks were on the expensive side (but expectedly so).
You should make an effort to play this course. We paid £50 each and it was very good value for that. Highly recommended.
