Still the best all round package

Rockliffe Hall GC delivers in all areas, the course is fantastic, the tee boxes were immaculate, the greens were good for January and the hospitality was second to none. We were a group of seven playing under the ?49 winter offer and we enjoyed every minute of it. The food was great, the facilities are 5 star as expected and the way the staff look after you is fantastic. The guys with me got their trolleys and clubs cleaned as part of the whole experience and this just capped off a great day out. If you havent been here, you need to come and experience the whole package and thats before I even talk about how the hotel and spa garden are if you decide to stay over !

Course was in lovely condition. The greens were all very interesting and varied rolling very truly. The tee boxes are cleverly positioned so as to make it an encouraging round. Above all the staff were brilliant. The hospitality was special and helped create an enjoyable experience.

One of the best courses I have played

I play every other week, in the UK and overseas and Rockliffe rates up there in the top ten for quality, service and overall status. The staff cannot do enough for you, from putting your clubs on the trolley or buggy, to storing clubs and shoes, to cleaning your shoes after the round. The clubhouse and facilities are immaculate, this is a true 5 star experience and should be on your bucket list. Another tip, stay at the hotel and pay extra for the Spa Garden after your golf !

Fantastic chalenging course

What looks like a straight forward course becomes very tricky due to the strategically place bunkers of which there are many dotted around to swallow up any less than perfect drive, beautifully kept and tended fairways greens await the perfect hitters. Off the course the staff went above and beyond to make us welcome.

The greens were poor in comparison to equivalent courses in the area and nobody seemed to own a pitch mark repairer, That aside, very enjoyable and a good challenge and nice setting. Played on a £30 twilight voucher and would play again but only on the same deal. £4.75 a pint,

I recently joined the club in April 2015, i have found all the staff to be the most helpful and friendly i have come across, their expertise is second to none in ensuring you always enjoy your golfing day. The members themselves are extremely welcoming and offer full support to all as you experience playing the "Rock" a difficult exciting course no matter what your handicap, then take part in the banter and many discussions that follow in the 19th, enjoy on a warm day with a cold beer sitting outside watching players tackle the tricky 18th green, all the facilities are excellent, this is a fantastic course in great condition, the ground staff take pride in presenting the best. A great experience to be had by all.

In two minds on whether to post this review as I really don't want people to find out about this gem of a course. We played in September about 2 weeks before they are due to host the English Seniors Open so the course was probably in its best condition. Fairways are like carpets, firm with nice tight lies. Greens are also excellent - fast and true. A couple of patches around the greens were lightly sanded so the was the occasional soft bounce but otherwise everything was as it should be. Bunkers were very consistent - lots of thick grainy sand.
The course is a little long, but not overly punishing. Personally I would have preferred a couple more risk reward type holes. Even the shorter par 4s are well out of reach for even the longest hitters. Likewise the par 5s - most are impossible to reach. The exception is the 3rd which could be reached if you're either brave or stupid. A good mix on the par 3s - the island green on the 5th is a bit gimmicky but still a good challenge.
Will definitely look to come back here again!
