Pleasant enough course and very friendly members. Not overly long - any course where you can have a crack at a par 5 with your second shot when playing off the back tees is a bit short in my book. Course is a bit scruffy - tees are a bit battered, bunkers are fairly poor quality. Main thing that let it down was the greens - didn't look like they'd been cut recently and the fringes where very poor - any chip on to the greens and you are in the lap of the gods which way it bounces. Penalised some good shots! BUT its a nice layout, has some nice holes holes on it, and with some work on it could be a very nice course. Good course for beginners and those looking for a budget round of golf.

With a little effort this course could be amazing. Greens are warn and boring, the bunkers are full of stones and too shallow and the range balls are at least 20 years old and mostly full of cracks. The staff however are exceptional with special mention going to Dex in the club shop (awesome lad) and Kev the pro.

What a pity .... this is a lovely Parkland course that desperately needs some TLC (or a change of Green Keepers).

The Rough is far too long (over a foot in most places, even just off the Greens), and the Greens are exceptionally slow (would be nice if they were cut to the same length).

Take plenty of Golf Balls, as this course eats them. You can run a few feet off the green and spend five minutes looking for your ball.

Think I have played my last game here for a while.

Stevenage Golf Course should be a great municipal golf course but it was built by the council and run by the council.

The lay out is good but the course is let down by the maintenance (grass cutters not Greenkeepers) and in part the build quality itself.

This course has improved greatly since its early days but the best thing you can say about it now is that it ain't bad considering.

Been playing here for years. Course is getting better all the time. Greens and fairways in good condition. Only comment would be that the tees have a crown on them making your stance not flat.

Mr cook

Great course ,poor condition due to it being council run . Bunkers are solid, tee boxes are mostly uneven on slopes. Rough is too long so it is difficult finding your ball if not on fairway. Area round greens is awful.
Greens are decent though. Stsff are very friendly. Food is decent. .
