Not overly impressed.

First visit to Duke's - an afternoon round after playing in the morning. ?125 each was massively over-priced. 5 or 6 greens were poor, buggies not possible as 'nobody will be around when you finish to put them away' ; yet it's a long/hilly walk (this wasn't explained when booked). Tried to get some food to take out - ?14 for a sandwich ...... Yes, I get it's different to the local links courses, but you are effectively playing dodge the multiple bunkers on every hole, no respite which actually gets a bit boring. Save your money & play LadyBank/Scotscraig if you fancy a change from links golf in St Andrews.

Could be better

Plenty of bunkers. Greens very good. Fairway condition not the best.
Food and drinks in clubhouse poor value

A well kept course with what appeared to be good drainage system. Greens in good condition although too many bunkers. Coffee supplied with bacon roll was not up to standard for the price.

Enjoyed the day, the scenery etc, Staff were exceptional as was the food and surroundings. However, I was disappointed in the condition of a great layout. The bunkers were strewn with small stones and compacted, the greens looked as if they needed a good feed and were somewhat inconsistent with pace. For the price you would be better spending the little bit extra and visit Carnoustie, where the conditioning of all three courses are months ahead of The Dukes

Worth a visit

Absolutely beautiful course, fairly long, rough not easy to play from and stay out of the gorse. Beautiful setting with gorgeous views. Very good value for money.

A long track

Depending on tee choice, this could eat you up. A good challenge though.
