St Andrews The Home Of Golf
A golfing Mecca for the most accomplished golfer to the enthusiastic amateur, a trip to St Andrews Links is one which realises the ultimate dream for golfers worldwide.
From the iconic Swilcan Bridge on the Old Course to Tom Morris's masterful architecture on the New Course, St Andrews Links has developed over 600 years to become one of the most famous locations in golf. Perhaps most fascinating however, is the fact that all seven courses at St Andrews Links are public and open to everyone.
St Andrews Links is the largest public golfing complex in Europe. From the terrifying sight of Hell Bunker on the Old Course to the gentle slopes of the Balgove, the Home of Golf has become the ultimate golfing destination for all ages and abilities.
The three championship courses; the Old Course, New Course and Jubilee Course run parallel to each other along the famous West Sands of St Andrews. Nestled on the opposite side of the Links are the Eden, Strathtyrum courses and the only nine hole course, the Balgove. A five minute drive from the town is the seventh course, the award winning Castle Course which offers dramatic views over St Andrews from its spectacular cliff top location.
Away from the course, explore the fantastic facilities St Andrews Links has to offer. Learn at the St Andrews Links golf Academy. Shop our exclusive range of official merchandise from our five retail store and finally relax in the Swilcan Restaurant with a wee dram as you reflect on your visit to the Home of Golf. Played the Eden course in rain which was a pity. The greens were excellent, with humps and borrows everywhere. Good value at £36.

Played the Torrance course as a warm up for a national competition final played on the Eden course the following day. Both courses were absolutely awesome in every way. The Torrance is a tough course, especially for a high handicapper like me. The huge greens were super quick and, for me, very difficult to read properly. but it was £40 well spent as I played really well on the Eden the next day. This course suits my game better. The greens were a bit slower, and the fairways a bit wider but it was still a fantastic experience. Made even better by the fact that the Dunhill was being set up that weekend so the atmosphere was incredible. I ate, drank and slept golf the whole weekend.

First time round course, which was in excellent condition. Excellent club house, which also serves the Jubilee course. Runs along side Old Course, which looked extremely busy. Very flat course, with small undulations around the green

We actually went to play the old course but due to an admin mixup ended up playing the new. As we had a day to get over the dissapointment when we teed off on the new we could tell we would be in for a great day, all three off us hitting the centre of the fairway and all making par. Its an amazing feeling to playing at St Andrews and you cannot be dissapointed to play the new course. Loved it and even had a very good chance of eagle on 12, cant wait to go back.

As promised, a review five years later. Played the course yesterday, June 24, 2008 but this time only 20-25 mph winds faced me and no rain. It's still the hardest of the five main courses at St. Andrews but this time I was bound and determined to play it like the natives and brave the elements.
I love this course in every way and it's a great course to play in addition to The Old Course, The New Course, and The Eden Course which is one of the Links hidden secrets. The Course
