Great price fairways a bit bare but not bad for time of the year .
Greens not to bad and some tricky holes also not a course thats got same holes .
In all a very good course and will play again would recommend not only for value but for a different challenge on each hole
I would say its a course you must try.

An excellant course, quite tricky with narrow, sloping fairways. Some very tricky holes and how the 8th is only a Par3/stroke index 3 is something I'll never accept!

Played here for a tenner and was very impressed with the course. Well laid out and maintained and good quality greens. Great value for money

Probably the WORST course we've ever played!
Fairways need a good cut (they were more like semi rough) and greens very slow and wooly.
If you were slightly off the fairway in the semi chances are you would loose your ball as the grass was so long... definitely NOT worth the £22 we paid for a round.
Overall a very disappointing day!

Good course to play, had a lot of rain just lately to be fair as it was just drying out, so fairways were due a trim.
Each hole is different and each one was a challenge for any player especially hole 8, although my friend managed to get a par !
Greens were in very good condition and fast and overall can't complain for the money we payed, also we were not held up at any point, overall I would say go and try, it will challenge any golfer, plenty of trees, didn't lose any balls, would play here again.

Nice course had tricky first 9 and a good second 9, very boggy in places but would like to go back there with better weather.

Really well kept and maintained course. You do come across the odd G.U.R but nothing thats too off-putting. Greens are lovely, fairways clear.

Am local to the area, and have made this my home club pretty much.
The course plays as three seperate parts the front 9 including lengthy four and fives, holes 8 to 12 where some birdies can be made but shots lost to sloppy play then finishing with a mix of par 3s, 4s and a 5.
A well balanced course.Like most courses though plays far better in the summer due to poor drainage, but greens are reliable all year round.
Price wise is unbeatable play for as little as £14 pounds on the weekend.
Well worth a visit.....

A great test of golf, with tree lined fairways and played on a day with wind blowing from all directions you could say that Shirland could make it into one of the golf magazines as a hidden gem!
The only down side to the course was that the greens were a little slow due to the length and type of grass, soon not to be a problem as it states on the course information sheets that are on every table in the club house for people to read that this will be addressed in the near future as the club are looking to spend around £12,000 to improve the standard of all the greens and make them playable all year round.
And what got it all off to a great start is that on selected times of certain days with an internet booking you can play this fantastic course for as little as £8!!

Played Shiralnd for the first time in years. has matured nicely. Very tight lots of blind tee and approach shots. Course condition suffered from very wet weather. Played very long and green bumpy and two paced.
Very friendly and accomodating a good test. Will have another crack at it with hindsite being the 15th club.
