Oakmere Park Golf Club

ADMIRALS COURSE - 6565 yds Our 18 hole course, named after Admiral Sherbrooke V.C., consists of 6565 yds (white tees) of rolling, undulating terrain, with a par of 72. A pleasant relaxing walk with ponds and the Dover Beck meandering through the course coming into play on some of the holes. COMMANDERS COURSE - 6407 yds Our 9 hole course, named after Commander Mortensen, is a championship length course of 6407 yds with a par of 72. Much care and time has been invested in the natural heathland landscape with trees, gorse and hedgerow to establish an interesting and challenging layout.

Golf course review of Oakmere Park Golf Club
Got cut off again, last try. 11th hole was a par 4 but they've put a new back tee in which is fantastic. Another great driving hole, as good as the 1st. 12th par 3 is okay. 13th par 4 is long. 14th is a really long par 5 about 600 yards I think. 15th par 5 is a really good hole , short enough to be able to try and take on the water with your 2nd shot if your long or staright enough. 16th is an uphill par 3 which is only about 150 yards but it must be the hardest par 3 in the midlands. 17th is ok and the 18th is a dog leg par 5 around the driving range, poor finishing hole but makeable in 2 so you may get a reward at the end of your round.

Golf course review of Oakmere Park Golf Club
I've just left a review but got cut off. Anyway the next 2 holes are new. At first I didnt like them because the 9th is uphill but its quite a good hole actually. Driveable par 4 but very risky. Next hole , 10th ,is now one of my favourite holes . Dog leg left back down the hill. Needs a well placed drive to reach the brow of the hill. If you do you are rewarded with a great downhill view of the green with about a 9 iron. If yoiu bail out right with the drive you end up with a blind , long 2nd shot.

Golf course review of Oakmere Park Golf Club
I've been a member here for years and really enjoy both courses.
The first hole is probably the best opening hole in the Midlands. 2nd Hole from back tee over water for me is a 3 wood, really tough shot. 3rd hole has a stream running down the right hand side of the fairway. Long hoile from the back tee.
4th is alright. 5th hole they re just building a new elevated tee, thatll be better. 6th hole is average, 7th is long par 4, use to be a par 5, thats how long it is. 8th is an uphill par 3 which is quite good.

Golf course review of Oakmere Park Golf Club
Although I play golf for a living and play courses all over the country and abroad, I still really enjoy playing the Admirals Course. Not too keen on the 5th hole but all the rest are great golf holes. I dont play it in the winter that often but I hear its normally in great condition.

Golf course review of Oakmere Park Golf Club
I use to be a member here but joined another course closer to home. Played here today for the first time since I left. Not only is it in better condition than my own course but they are always doing work on the course to improve the layout , Shame I left and will look forward to coming back to play regularly

Enjoyed both course during society day yesterday. Greens were brilliant , nice clubhouse and the bloke behind the bar was a really good laugh. Great day was had by all. been better if I had won. lol

Golf course review of Oakmere Park Golf Club
Played yesterday with my brother. Really enjoyed it. Course was in fantastic condition considering the time of the year and the foul wether the day before.
Staff seemed really pleasant in the shop. Clubhouse very modern and smart and had a nice bacon cob. Definitely come back.

Golf course review of Oakmere Park Golf Club
On a society day out , really loved the course. Not played it before but reckon it to be even better than Sherwood where I normally play, especially the greens. Clubhouse really modern and smart , gorgeous home made beef and ale pie (least thats what they told me. lol). Look forward to next year, hope my golfs better then aswell.
