What the club says: Attractive parkland coarse at 6,617 yards long with an SS of 72. The coarse has been constructed to the highest USPGA specifications,
Water hazards feature on many of the holes, especially the long par 3 13th that remind visitors of the famous hole at Pennina. Despite the numerous hazards, well struck shots are always rewarded by the receptive nature of the slick undulating greens.

Good enjoyable course
My friend and I played at Nazeing in August 2023, having not played there for over seven years. We had always been concerned that the course wasn't good at coping with wet weather. We were pleasantly surprised by how it had coped with the recent very wet weather in July 2023.We were both impressed by the quality of the greens and bunkers and this contributed to an enjoyable round for both of us. We were less impressed by the clubhouse where the choice and quality of the food on offer was very disappointing. We decided to eat afterwards at a neighbouring pub. We would play here again but go elsewhere to have food.

Nice tidy, very playable course
I arrived for a 7am tee off on a blazing hot day in June 2023 and found the drive through the course interesting before arriving at the large clubhouse. When the pro arrived I was informed that there was a Senior Comp from the 1st and 10th holes at 9am so I needed to be past the 9th in two hours. Something I might have wanted to know beforehand but as a fast golfer I was way past there anyway. The first hole is the toughest for a fader like me, even a good daring shot over the corner of the lake leaves about 200 yards into a protected green. I really liked the first hole but it was probably the least well manicured of the whole course. As I got further into the course the holes got neater and greens got better. The course is quite forgiving with wide first cuts and reachable in two par fives. Greens were really good and very true. There is a really tricky 210 yard par 3 with water right and large trees left which I was very happy to par. Overall a lovely neat and tidy course with nothing spectacular about it, but a nice round for thirty quid. Afterwards I spent time in the clubhouse and had a bit of food which was also nice. I would say its not going to disappoint anyone at this price, but it will not challenge a lower handicapper. I went round in 73 off a nine handicap, the back nine is the scoring half. One to think about if you are passing and do not want to pay too much in an expensive area.Reviewer Rating

Enjoyable golf and a good club house
I've played Nazeing quite a few times now but not for a few years. The course has a good layout, good variety of holes, a fair challenge as well as scoring opportunities.
The conditions of the course have always been very good when I've played.

An Essex Gem. Nazeing GC
Decided to venture out into the Essex countryside from West London, and after reading reviews, headed to play Nazeing GC, and it turned out to be a good decision. From the moment I arrived and checked into the Pro-shop, I was made to feel like a fully paid-up member. Facilities are great. A fairly large putting green and an excellent driving range area between the clubhouse and 1st tee. As for the course, well. There are some excellent holes at Nazeing. There are a variety of holes, from long to short par-4's and par-3's, to par-5's inviting you to grab the driver. The fairways are fairly wide most of the way round, but some are quite tight. There appears to be fairway, semi-rough, longer rough, then even longer rough, but even in the rough its not that much of a problem to escape from, but take your medicine and get it back in play. There are some stand-out holes at Nazeing with the 1st, a right to left dogleg, with a large lake on the corner of the dogleg, the 5th, worthy of the stroke index 1, a gentle rising fairway to a small sloping green, the 7th a 500 yard par 5 with a large expanse of water to the approach to green on your right, the 8th a long uphill par-3, that will test your accuracy with a long-ish iron and the 9th, sweeping downhill, then uphill towards the clubhouse an excellent finishing hole to the front 9. The back 9 starts with a gentle downhill par 5, with a ditch approx 120 yards from the green forcing a decision for the shorter hitters, the 13th a 225 yard par 3 from the yellow tees, with overhanging oak tree branches on the left and another large lake to the right of the green. An excellent hole. The 17th a shortish par 4 slightly downhill, with out of bounds all down the left bunkers to the front left of the green and another pond to the right of the green and then the 18th a gentle rising fairway towards the clubhouse with an array of bunkers short of the green. As you would expect, there are a fair amount of greens with slopes and breaks, but that just makes you think a bit harder about putting, which it should do. In summary, Nazeing gives you the opportunity to open your shoulders on a fair few holes, but be mindful to drift too far into the rough. Green fee was ?30, a reasonable price to pay for a course that you won't be disappointed with. Nazeing GC, is well worth a visit.Reviewer Rating
